To be honest, when I first saw all this in the weekly update I thought 2 things.
#1- there is an actual legendary ending but,
#2- No matter what anyone does,(kill all the bobs, hit all switches etc) that until the "time" mentioned in "There'll be another time..." is reached there won't be a legendary ending.
The weekly update by bungie has slowed my hardcore search for what unlocks the legendary ending.

All I can see from a tyranid invasion is them landing, breathing in flood spores and becoming infected
I want a source for somebody getting infected by breathing in flood spores. The people that actually know how the flood are even sketchy about how they work. This means the ODST's in halo 3 should have been infected, along with the scarabs, lekgolo, etc. The Flood alters the environment to better suit them, we don't know anything of an airborne infection.
I quote from 343 guilty spark. " the infection form carries spores that cause a host to mutate. The host then produces spores that can spread the flood to others."
The same 343 that said the forerunners were wiped out when we know they aren't?Lekgolo cant be infected since they are a hive species. Halo was designed to kill what the flood ate, so it was tuned to kill anything with a nural system (spinal cord, brain). Since an individual worm does not have enough mass for the flood and their extreme motabalism they cant be infected even if they had a nural system.
Spores have always been here. Remember halo 3?
"One single Flood spore can destroy a species. Were it not for the Arbiter's counsel, I would have glassed your entire planet!"-R'Tas Vadum to Lord Hood-
ODST's have a sealed suit like Master chief does. They cant be infected by spores, only by direct contact from the infection forms.
0Do you not research the information you put up, or are u just so blinded by your blue mythic bar?
Lekgolo cannot be infected because they have no spine and are normally in a gestalt stat with far too many nervous systems to manage. not to mention the lack of calcium.
The Halo array kills what can be infected not what the flood "eats". If you can be infected or are infected you will die, save for the basic infection form.
Give me a source saying anything about mass and metabolism, this is the first i have ever heard about that.
Remember when Hood said the covenant attacked reach with 700 something ships? Remember when Glass jaw says he would glass the planet when we know the covenant can't glass planets? Its called power playing, anybody that has been in a relationship would know about that.
Hmm, so i guess it is out of the question for the ODSTs to be smacked around by combat forms causing the helmet to come off? What about infection forms sticking their tendrils in it?
Do you get all your knowledge from halopedia and pretend like you already knew it? And how would i be blinded by a grey bar i cannot see when i type?First with the ODST. We were talking about the spores infecting them, NOTHING about a combat form was mentioned.
Halo kills what the flood eats. Have you not listened to Cortana?
"You have no idea how this ring works, do you? Why the Forerunners built it? Halo doesn't kill Flood, it kills their food: Humans, Covenant, whatever, we're all equally edible. The only way to stop the Flood is to starve them to death. And that's exactly what Halo is designed to do: wipe the galaxy clean of all sentient life. You don't believe me? Ask him."
As for the metabolism rate.
