In which i retorted by saying look at the evidence that didact was at the ring thus you will see how 343 is getting the two confused.

Indeed, didact was at halo, indeed chief was at halo. Now show me the incident where guilty spark got the two muddled up.

what the hell? no. how about you replay halo CE and pay attention this time.

How about you stop avoiding answering the question. I know half of the halo trilogies script off by heart, I certainly do not recall this incident.

"I may not be perfect, but always been true."

I think Grey is right, Lekgolo must be immune to the effects of the Halo array seeing how they lack an advanced nervous system and even if they did have one, they are far too small individually to be infected by the Flood.

Cortana was partly right, the Halo array kills the Flood and all possible hosts/infected hosts, but as I stated before Lekgolo worms are way too simplistic on their own accord to be used as hosts so they would be safe from the effects of the blast, unless the blast could be felt physically, then they would probably get trashed around due to their lightness.

Count on it, be back in around 45mins.

To be honest, when I first saw all this in the weekly update I thought 2 things.
#1- there is an actual legendary ending but,
#2- No matter what anyone does,(kill all the bobs, hit all switches etc) that until the "time" mentioned in "There'll be another time..." is reached there won't be a legendary ending.

The weekly update by bungie has slowed my hardcore search for what unlocks the legendary ending.

no but that is one of the many times 343 gets chief confused for the didact. Which is why i am saying he is bullshirting, because there is no way you played CE and didn't hear the numerous times 343 got confused.

Or the several times he is confused at how Chief brought ineffective weapons or armor, despite containment protocols (indicating he thinks Chief knows those very well).

We should know better, because we are better.

I look away for a few hours and this topic gets 4 pages of replies? Zomg!

Anyway, it does not matter what Halo's capabilities are, the OP clearly stated that they are limited to a single system at a time which means the Halo has to be present. After that, any 40k races in the vicinity would attack and damage/destroy it. All it takes is a strong shot to destroy Halo. The Autumn left a crater 5 km in diameter which destabilized the whole ring. Earlier in this thread I stated the fact that an Imperial ship can make a hole 12 km wide and 18 km deep, more than double the size of the whole the Autumn can make.

In addition, Necrons, and Daemons would not be affected by the Halo due to the lack of something the Halo could target, ie a nervous system. The Eldar could foresee the firing of a Halo array and could develop a plan around, like dropping out of the webway just after it fired and take them by surprise. The Emperor could always just stop time for everyone but the 40k forces and retreat/destroy Halo while time is standing still.

@Grey: Just give Spartan the quotes or a link to one of your earlier posts and end that argument.

And how are the forerunners alive?

Oracle, what is Halo's purpose?"
343 Guilty Spark: "Well collectively, the seven-"
Tartarus grabs 343 Guilty Spark and jerks him around.

Tartarus: "Not another word!"
Sergeant Johnson (off screen): "Please..."
Tartarus lowers 343 Guilty Spark to see Johnson standing next to 'Vadam. He holds a Beam Rifle and aims it directly at Tartarus.

Sergeant Johnson: "Don't shake the light-bulb."
The Brute Captains growl and approach. Johnson raises the Beam Rifle to Tartarus' head.

Sergeant Johnson: "If you wanna keep your brain inside your head, I'd tell those boys to chill."
Tartarus barks a command, and the Brutes back off.

Sergeant Johnson: (to 'Vadam) "Go ahead. Do your thing."
Thel 'Vadam: (to Guilty Spark) "The Sacred Rings, what are they?"
343 Guilty Spark: "Weapons of last resort, built by the Forerunners to eliminate potential Flood hosts, thereby rendering the parasite harmless."
Thel 'Vadam: "And those who made the rings? What happened to the Forerunners?"
343 Guilty Spark: "After exhausting every other strategic option, my creators activated the rings. They and all additional sentient life within three radii of the galactic center, died, as planned."
Close up on 'Vadam, he lowers his head in sadness.

343 Guilty Spark: (slightly awkward) "Would you... like to see the relevant data?"
Now, if your going to fight me on if they are alive, why dont you show me the data like Guilty tried to do with the Arbiter. So far, I've shown actual quotes from Halo while you have only shown me your won words on where to find them.

Fair enough, but that does not mean it is the didact, merely a forerunner. Hell I doubt the didact had even been invented by bungie at that point.

He's not mistaking chief for a forerunner, merely stating that he has indeed, not brought effective weapons or needs to upgrade to a class 12 combat skin. He does not once call chief a forerunner, only reclaimer.

They only limited his data to prevent MB or GM from finding The Ark. Why limit the fact that all the forunners are dead when eeveryone else knows it. And if the Didact was at Installation 04, then 343 would have know of this, regardless if he was on 05 or 00.

It is the didact seeing how there are several sources that point didact activating 04.

He is mistaking chief for a forerunner since he keeps stating things as if chief did them before. If you paid attention to the dialogue you wouldn't be trying to contest something that has been known for 10 years.

Guilty Sparks last quote in the series was to say point blank that Chief was a "Child of my makers, inheritor to all they left behind! You are Forerunner!" Obviously he is wrong but it shows how addled he was.

No. CE is the start of 343 confusing chief for the didact despite it being through the trilogy. He talked to miranda as if she should know where the ark was and what would happen if the ring didn't fire.

Odd, you tell me that Didact was at Halo when he actived it, yet you try to tell me they are alive? Impossible. If you have played halo 2, you would know that in "The Great Journey" that 343 HIMSELF said that all the Forerunners Died!
"After exhausting every other strategic option, my creators activated the rings. They, and all additional sentient life within three radii of the galactic center, died, as planned. Would you like to see the relevant data?" - To the Arbiter.
Why don't you go back and listen to halo 2 again.

After a good amount of time if at all, as proven by what limited data there is.

The marines on CE weren't infected by the spores. John Forge in Halo wars wasn't turned into a combat form by the spores. Johnson most definitely wasn't and to think he wasn't exposed to them is stupid.

About Didact, he was at a halo ring when it fired. But look at 343's knowledge base. HALO 04. NOTHING ELSE.

He honestly had NO IDEA what was going on beyond his ring after the halo fired. He wouldn't know if Forerunners had left the galaxy or not.

Which, by the way, is something interesting. The flood make a despite attack against the defense line, the rings are planned to be fired, yet nobody went into a shield world or into slipspace heading far away? Doesn't make sense at all. So yeah, they most likely just left. Not all, but some.

Aka, Didact is dead, but that doesn't mean some forerunners survived by leaving or going into shield worlds.
