Weapon of Oppression

The flood are clearly out numbered by the tryanids. "Their anti-ordnance defense turrets have weapons larger than those carried on Titans, their barrels over ten metres long, Even by naming the Great Devourer, men betray their ignorance. Every thought and action, every spark of life in the tryanid race is bound and interlinked into a single great organism streatching over light years of space and controlled by the immortal hive mind. A billion times a billion Tryanids stand at the rim of the galaxy, each no more than a single cell in the living body of the hive mind, the devourer of worlds. " Codex: Tyranids (3e), p.39

The tyranids can consumer entire planets.
"Subject: Tyranid Planetary Assimilation Analysis
Lord Commanders,

I bring you grave news. The threat we face may be far more vast than we ever dreamed. Technical analysis of Dalki-Prime pre Tyranid consumption survey information when cross-referenced with the data from Dalki-Mons post Tyranid consumption shows some startling information.

Dalki-Prime was an agricultural planet with a diameter of 12,500 km, slightly smaller than Terra. The Tyranid fleet was able to remove the
following quantities of material from the planet within 100 day.[Terran standard]

1.55 billion cubic km water, one cubic km of sea water weighs over 1 trillion kg. 8.67 billion cubic km gases, at STP theoretically they could reduce this to 1 tenth its volume by super cooling and pressure (3 atm, and 0 degrees Celsius). 72 million cubic km and minerals, weighing 1.4 trillion kg per cubic km.
Over 10 billion cubic kilometeres of material was removed from the planet."

We should know better, because we are better.

Tyranids can evolve based on their foe. Zoanthropes are designed around Eldar biomass and have a greater proficiency in using the might of the Hive Mind in battle. The Mind learns and adapts so quickly. In addition, the Virus bombs are not like the Flood, they eat flesh, not infect it. The Flood would be weak to it because they are all flesh! The only surefire way to survive a virus bomb is to not have any flesh.

Another perfect example of people having no knowledge of the other universe making claims due to being fanboys.

Necrons would be the flood, easy. This fact was already established. Try reading before posting so you don't look stupid.

I'm sorry that my opinion is different from your own, I will try better in the future.

The funny thing is if it were really just an opinion you wouldn't get offended by it being wrong. You are entitled to an opinion but that doesn't entitle it to being idiotic or ignorant.

I've never even talked to you and already you have pissed me off. You flame everybody else for having a different opinion, then try and cause arguments by saying that he was offended, even though there was nothing in that post to suggest it.

Why would you give a -blam!- about anybody's opinion anyway? Does it really matter to you? And if it does, does it matter so much that you have to flame other people?

Good day, and -blam!- off.

lolz I'm reading this as I paint Warhammer models. I think right now Warhammer is way more in depth than Halo, although it can be on the ridiculous side of things. Halo on the other hand is a lot easier to get into for some people. I think the mystery of the Forerunners and the Halo universe makes for a very exciting experience for people playing the Halo games and reading the books. Don't get me wrong Warhammer books are also a great read.

The Flood cannot infect a live Tyranid, their (acid) blood itself sees to that. To the flood, a dead body is not truly dead until it and all its matter is completely obliterated. They would have to swarm a group of Tyranids with infection forms and kill them, they would then have to drag the body away somewhere and wait for at least the brain to completely bleed out. After such amount of time the flood could assimilate any intelligence and matter into the flood biomass. You would essentially end up with another race, exactly like the Tyranid. Until they started creating pure forms of course. And it's a fair assumption that Tyranid carapaces contain a fair amount of calcium, allowing relatively fast production of pure forms and a proto-gravemind.

Yep, using the halo rings means the Halo universe loses...

Cause they wipe out your guys for sure, maybe the enemy.

As said before in my previous post...It is possible to survive if you know the effect...As did the forerunners.

Obviously the enemy's wouldn't know what a halo is.

Halos wouldn't work on Necrons for starters - Necrons are machines, not living organisms. And if we're talking about wiping out entire galaxies, let's just step back and consider that Chaos have gods on their side.

And, if we're talking about invoking the Forerunners, then let's bring the God-Emperor of Man into this - a physical being with power equal to all four Chaos Gods. He could literally shred millions of creatures limb from limb by clicking his fingers. The only way he got beaten was by his son, Horus (the second-most-powerful physical being in the galaxy), and even then, Horus was being directly assisted by the Gods Of Chaos, and the Emperor was only trying to wound him until the very end of the battle, after he'd been severely weakened and realised that Horus was too far gone.

So, that's a tiny taste of two factions. Now bring the rest of the factions in, and you realise that the Halo universe would be crushed with ease beneath the heel of Warhammer.

Thankyou, and goodnight.

Lol, we have so many heroes. Roboute Guiliman, Ciaphas Cain, Gregor Eisenhorn, Inquisitor Torquemada, Rogal Dorn, Leman Russ, Corax, Uriel Ventris, Ragnar Blackmane, Lord Dante, Cato Sicarius, Mephiston, Tigurius, Lemartes, ... etc. Need I go on? And those are just some of the Imperium's heroes.

This list is just as long for the Chaos heroes (or rather, villains), like Angron, Magnus the Red, Mortarion, Fulgrim, Abaddon, Lorgar, Kharne, Lucius, Ahriman, Typhus, Perturabo, Warsmith Honsou, Erebus, etc.

All of those people, with the exception of Ciaphas Cain, Eisenhorn, and Torquemada are genetically engineered to the degree that they can beat the crap out of any Spartan, and those who aren't augmented that I listed are exceedingly lucky or blessed by the God-Emperor as their exploits have pointed out

Edit: I also forgot to list Commissars Yarrick and Ibram Gaunt, who are both BAMFs

I believe you I am sure they are more powerful . Just like the scarab, the whole covenant, the flood....

Being a spartan is more than just brawn. The chief beats guys more powerful than him all the time. For example any white/golden elite is more powerful than him. But chief is much more than just powerlevels.

Basically speaking, a Space Marine has far more experience than any Spartan will have, since a lot of Space Marines are over fifty years old, and some are several hundred years old. Additionally, they have more training than a Spartan (the majority of them DIE during training - it's that tough), and they're armed with basically automatic compact missile launchers with comparable power to a Reach-style grenade launchers. A Space Marine outmatches a Spartan in every imaginable way.

And there are millions of them.

Also, a hero (in the sense of someone who's good) is, by definition, no stronger than someone who's evil, and possibly actually weaker due to their moral constraints.

Off-Topic: Add Kaldor Draigo to that list of the Imperium's heroes, although he is a God Mode Sue, and a bit of a Well-Intentioned Extremist at times.

Dude, none of Chief's training, tact and luck can stop him from being skewered by Abaddon. I'm assuming that you do not know anything of Warhammer 40,000? Like the other Pro-Halo people in this thread?
Chief is Inferior in almost every way imaginable to any space marine.

Good is relative. Everyone believes in what they are fighting for. The real heroes are the Imperial Guardsmen; ordinary people who face down horrific abominations with no chance fir survival but do it anyway because their sacrifice may let others live. And the Tau are on a whole less bad then everyone else.

People have too much faith in the Flood and Forerunners.

  • 12.16.2011 7:08 AM PDT

I... I'm not even going to bother trying to reason after seeing the mess of the previous pages.

Lovin' how they choose to ignore the Necrons after they were proven un-infectable.

Also, could Orks even be infected by flood? You know 'cause of the whole fungus thing?

Yeah, thought about that. Without the spores, the Orks would be toast. But it's impossible to say how they would affect the flood... Then again, Flood spores are much more... Hostile, they probably wouldn't have much problem neutralizing the Ork ones.... Maybe.

To what species are you referring to?

If Orks then they can be killed.

Or are you pissed 'cause Halo ain't winning?

  • 12.16.2011 8:14 AM PDT

Do you not think that pitting race against race, like Tau vs Covvies would be more interesting than.

"Flood beats 'nids." and "'Nids would adapt." for two pages?

Also, I like Halo and all but in Warhammer every race is OP in its' own way so to an outside universe it looks stupid and unbeatable but since EVERYTHING is OP it sorta balances out. That's why I like it.
