Subject: Has this actually become the "Main" Forum?

In the dear years of past, it has been the Halo 3 or Halo: Reach Forum fueling the fire of this beautiful website. Now, Bungie having moved on from those times, this miraculous community has banded together and made "The Screw" this website's mainstay. Wow.

Once a place where the "real" fans would reside, it has become a sort of melting pot, in my eyes, for all of us to come together. Yes, of course, there was always The Flood which was some sort of a "melting pot" in its own right, but I don't see it being the mainstay of the website. Also Crimson, a relatively new member of the family, is prevalent but not as active.

Maybe I'm wrong, maybe I'm right. You guys, and gals, can let me know: Is this really the "main forum" of Bnet?

The Flood. Very active, although not "normal"... still very active.

Seeming as to how they down't actually own halo and no one talks about the others, yes. This or the Flood.

I'm not sure about this being the main forum, but it feels more active than ever.

I feel like this Forum is the same as ever, but the decreasing rate of the other Forums makes this one feel more active.

  • 11.27.2011 6:33 PM PDT

No, it's become slightly more active. But, more people seem to want to talk about Halo:Reach rather than the community itself.

In terms of activity, no way. This forum is dead compared to the Flood. Seriously, I find myself here often replying to threads that I posted in the day before, and not because it's a hot thread, but because this place is so inactive.

The Flood may be most active, but if it becomes the "main forum" here, the face of our Bungie.net forums.... God help us all.

On a more serious note, I would say that this is probably the main forum. It is about the Bungie Community, not about random things such as in The Flood or about Halo which Bungie doesn't control anymore.

This is the way the world ends,
This is the way the world ends,
This is the way the world ends;
Not with a bang but a whimper.

While there certainly aren't the most threads here, it seems that there are a greater number of mature posts here than in other forums, especially in the game forums.

Interesting, dynamic, spontaneously intelligent, and devoid of mod/employee brown-nosing? Sounds good to me.

Realistically though, it wouldn't make sense for an off-topic forum to be the main forum for Bungie. I sincerely doubt anyone signs up on B.Net with the express intent of talking about anything not related to Bungie.

When there are no games to discuss, and one doesn't want to venture into the mess that is the Flood on a regular basis, what is there to discuss other than Bungie LLC, Moderators, DeeJ, and Spartain Ken (the topics most commonly found here in the Septagon).

Definitely The Flood. Most active, and accurately portrays the spamfest this site really is. The only reason this board isn't like that is because it's the Mod's lounge. A safe haven.

I like looking at the forum posts here because the Flood is well...the Flood.

I wonder, maybe it has something to do with another studio taking over Halo and Bungie working on a new project, which would mean that the large majority of people left over are here for Bungie [citation needed], and as this is the Bungie Community forum, that is where they congregate.

The Flood is without a doubt the most active forum here, so if you're talking about "fueling" activity here, that would be the main driver.

I would, however, say that there's a resurgence of activity from some old-timers as of late. Bungie doesn't own the Halo Universe, so most chatter related to the newest installments has migrated away from this site. Bungie fans, however, either for the original Halo series as we know it or for future projects forthcoming, are gathering again. It warms my heart.

Though what is wrong with this becoming the greater forum.
I think it may be a good thing.

  • 11.27.2011 7:32 PM PDT

If you think the "main forum" would be the one with the most activity, then the Flood would definitely be it. But I am not going there, nothing but bad experiences in that cesspool.

But the Community Forums has been a little more active than usual. I've been a regular on this forum for the past couple of months, but it is active (especially with the arrival of DeeJ).

I haven't been on the Reach forums for quite some time, I'm not sure if active (or if they miss me there). Maybe I'll venture back.

Tell you the truth, i used to be really active on the Universe forum but now coming to the Community forum, i may have contributed, plus many people have moved here because of the dying forums in the Games sections.

I think the Flood is probably the main forum. It has a lot of activity and it's where I usually go.

Main Forum does not necessarily mean most topics and most activities, but what is the main forum for bungie. And for Bungie this is the main forum, the intro, the Flood is just a room where people go for recreation or to mess around.
