Its freaking stupid when it takes 8secs to disarm the bomb, it means that u need to start disarming few secs after the bomb has been planted. It should be 20secs to detonate and 7secs to disarm

I thought Halo 3's window was fine. 15 seconds to detonate, 5 seconds to disarm if I recall correctly.

Twenty seconds is a pretty long time, especially when respawns are in ten.

Yeah that would be perfect and make it much more of a challenge for each team. A lot of team work would be required.

not bad, its hard enough sometimes to get the bomb across the map unnoticed and planted just to have it ruined by an EASY disarm. i think its more balanced in reach.

You wanted Classic so you get something close. Honestly, in Halo:CE/Halo 2, you couldn't disarm the bomb. 5 Seconds to Arm the Bomb, and then instant plants and detonates 1 second later.
Halo 3 it was instant arm, 5 second defuse, and 15 seconds until planted and blew up.

I like H2's way better. So you're lucky you even get the chance to disarm it.

I'd rather not do halo 3's style since that means no arm time for the bomb.

If the team is actively defending in the base or nearby, they should have enough time to stop them from even planting, and just enough time to disarm.
Just being in the bomb guy's way slows them enough since they actively have to sit still without dieing.

Otherwise, why give a huge recovery window for a team that isn't even around or competent enough to not notice people sneaking in, especially when the sole objective is to sit on their butts and defend.

Especially with how fast the stupid thing arms. You literally cannot disarm the bomb if all the person who arms it does is drops a plasma grenade on it.

Disarming the bomb is not all that hard unless there's an entire team postioned in your base or near the surroundings. In which case the team should've got a detonation anyways. People often forget that it's their own poor performance leading to the arming of the bomb; had they done better, they would be the ones planting it.

TL;DR
Don't let enemy plant the bomb and keep your damn eyes open to disarm it on time were it to happen.
