....to say you're an old member?

Have you seen my mind anywhere? I seem to have lost it...

0x0 x0x 0x0 000 000 x0x 000
x0x 0x0 0x0 0xx 000 0x0 000
x0x x0x x00 0xx 0x0 x0x 0x0

I have seen you future

I think it has more to do with who you're talking to. I'm two, so I can play old for anyone who just made an account, but someone who's four is old to me.

If you hit 7 you're ancient.

I'd say once you've been here for one game launch/dev cycle you're classified as 'old' and 'seasoned'.

Cool, then that makes me a old and seasoned member.

In a time long past, the armies of the dark came again to the lands of men. Their leaders became known as the fallen lords, and their terrible sorcery was without equal in the west.
In 30 years they reduced the civilized nations into carrion and ash. Until the free city of Madrigal alone defined them. An army gathered there, and a desperate battle was joined against the fallen
Heros were born in the fire and bloodshed of the wars which followed and their names and deeds will never be forgotten

Early ODST to end of Reach, guess I am "young" still.

It doesn't really matter, one can say that they are old as long as they want. Usually I just consider the "older members" to be the ones I recognize most.

Reach did kind of have it's cycle after ODST, so that would mean that you've been here for one game launch, which would then qualify you for the "old" and "seasoned" monikers as talon has said.

Are you trying to dispute what he's said or subtly say that you have been here for a while?

I just think compared to many people here I have not been here long enough to be considered old. Maybe another year or when Bungie releases their next title and we have a flood of new members.

Ken, even if you aren't old, you are FOR SURE one of the most recognizable members here on the Bnet...just saying.

Also, once all of the "new recruits" starting flooding into Bnet, that's when i'll really feel the oldness coming....

I've been waiting to use this

I think 4+ years makes you old. So, as of right now, anyone '07 or earlier is "old".

I didn't think you were a jerk, I just think compared to most of you I am just getting started here on Bungie.net.

I consider a member who has been an active part of the community for at least five years to be 'old', though I am sure many will have their own classifications for the term. Those with a join date prior to mine are certainly old, because I even consider myself to be an older member of the community.

Of course, I am by no means older than many members. At almost 19, there are many members who are much older than I.

Join date is completely irrelevant, it doesn't make you a bigger or lesser fan of Bungie.

When did this thread become about how much of a Bungie fan we are?

It's about what determines whether a member is to be considered 'old' or not.

Yeah, half a decade is quite a long time and I think it would be reasonable to assume that one who has been here for that amount of time could be considered "old" in a sense.

Id say 5 is a good indicator of a well seasoned member but i could also accept 3 i suppose.

  • 11.28.2011 2:36 PM PDT

Lol what if we made a new account after halo 2 ended? How long they have been a member really doesn't mean anything. I had to get a new gamer tag and account when switching over from regular xbox. I have been around since halo 2 dropped but you couldnt know that by my join date. I guess i am "old" but with this actual account im not so old.
