So everyones complaining about the betrayal system and keep asking questions like "Why did I not get the boot screen when this guy betrayed me?" or " Why did I get booted from 1 accidental betrayal?". Well the betrayal system works like this.

It is always based on the type of betrayal that happened. Based on how the player was kill will determine the option to boot or not. Here is the list of what causes 1 betrayals and 2 betrayal kicks from a game

(1 betrayal from this gives the player the option to boot.)

Betrayed by teammate with AR
Betrayed by teammate with Needler
Betrayed by teammate with Plasma Launcher
Betrayed by teammate with Plasma Repeater or Rifle
Betrayed by teammate with Machine Gun or Plasma Turret
Betrayed by teammate with Plasma Pistol
Betrayed by teammate with Spiker

(1 betrayal from this won't give the player the option to boot until next betrayal.)

Betrayed by teammate with Rocket launcher
Betrayed by teammate with Grenade Launcher
Betrayed by teammate with Shotgun
Betrayed by teammate with Sniper Rifle
Betrayed by teammate with Spartan Laser
Betrayed by teammate with Concussion Rifle
Betrayed by teammate with Fuel Rod Gun
Betrayed by teammate with Plasma Grenade

Betrayals from DMR, Needle Rifle, Focus Rifle, magnum, Beat down, and Splatters are random so it could be 1 or 2 betrayals to kick. Frag Grenades are (using term loosely) random so it could be 3 to 4 betrayals to kick as long as the teammate who was betrayed wasn't damaged by 1 grenade then killed with the other.

The Energy Sword varies depending on the game type. Infection is Unlimited and most team games are random so it can be 1 or 2 betrayals before the boot screen may come up.

I would like to finish by asking you all, Please think before you boot. Were you beatdown to death by a teammate for your sniper rifle? Or did you get in the way when your teammate who is 18-2 was going 60 mph and couldn't slow down to prevent you from becoming roadkill?

This is proven?

I think I'm going to stick with the "If you betray someone there is a chance you'll be kicked" theory.

Agreed. All the changes are good and add variety. Do we really want another Halo 3? Just running around with one gun and no armor abilities? It's good that 343 wants to try something new. Do we really want the same thing for three more games?

Thread saved.
Valuable info.

OP, I love you.
Quick question:
If I betray one person w/ a rocket launcher, and then a different person with it, will the second person still get a boot option?

Jorge: Bad news is: timer's fried, gonna have to fire it manually.
Noble 6: That's a one way trip...
Jorge: We all make it sooner or later. Better get going, Six, they're gonna need you down there. Listen, Reach has been good to me, it's time to return the favor. Don't deny me this... Tell em' to make it count.

I've already read how it works.. If you kill someone in one hit, you're probably not going to get booted, if you hit someone with like, an Ass salt Rifle, over a long period of time, you're more likely to get booted. This all adds up with boots from past games as well..

Here's how it works.. it doesn't

This is wrong.
Some idiot ran over my plasma grenade (on purpose, mind you) after I threw it and I immediately got booted.

This, plus I think it gives people the option to boot you less the more your forgive other people. That's pretty much all I know about the system.

Very interesting topic, when you say 'splatters' are random does that include all vehicle kills or do certain things like Wraith mortar fall under heavy weapon/2betrayals or Warthog chaingun under automatic weapon/1betrayal to boot.

Sorry if the above question is illiterate or hard to read, I'm tired and cbf rewording it. :<

First in social ranked firefight campaign competitive and ODST goose splatters.
My other account is UrbanTwisticle
20,000+ total matchmade goose splatters

Check out my YouTube Channel

Grab 3 friends and have everyone throw lawn darts strait up into the sky while on a playground carousel look up while you do this so that someone randomly takes it in the eye. This is how the booting system works and there is nothing wrong with it.

Good thing there is no boot option for living dead because I have a long history of betrayals in that.

I am quite sure your theory is wrong.

My theory is much more accurate and fits in with observed behavior of the booting system.

My theory is similar to baseball or whatever it is called, basically you get three strikes and on your third you are OUT.

- Betraying a teammate gives you one strike.
- Suicide gives you one strike. (obviously if you keep committing suicide you won't get booted)
- Each 'clean' game removes one strike.
- You cannot have more than three strikes.

This is based off: getting booted after betraying three people in a game; getting booted after betraying one person in a game after playing Grifball; getting booted after accidentally committing suicide a few times; not getting booted after betraying one person after just a handful of 'clean' games.

Nope.

BAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

The betrayal system is based on how often you betray. Betray your team often and you could get the boot after one betrayal. You don't get a clean slate every game, and it certainly has nothing to do with the weapons said person is using.
