Sometimes, I dream about cheese.

while reading the forum rules by Achronos, this part caught my attention:
- Leaked content (including magazine scans), real or fake, will not be tolerated.

if we provide a link of a magazine scan, article... related to product after it's released, will that be violating the above rule.

example: in 2013 i provide a link in a reply or thread of a few weapons 343 Industries confirmed will return in HALO 4, after its supposed release in 2012.

(my apologies if what i have said is dificult to understand)

Well the content wouldn't be leaked then, surely?

Unless it's DLC. In which case the rule would apply.

Oh, no, I see what you're saying, OP. (Hey, it's this guy!)

If it's already been released, then it won't be leaked content, so you would be able to post it.

*I think.*

corect! so i wouldn't be breaking any rules if a provide a link related to content of a product, after the owner (343 Industires) of that product (HALO 4) confirmed it, would i

As an experiment, I dare someone to post the Tom Morello pictures.

When it comes to the rules, it never hurts to ask a Mod. I know, stuff them and all that, but just PM x Foman123 x if you have any questions about the rules. I know for a fact he won't ignore you for no reason. :)

EDIT: I'm fine, thanks. I can post now, hahaha.

I understand nothing because my life is a conspiracy.

Tough call. It may be tolerated on The Flood, but we don't want to encourage leaked info.

Assuming that magazine companies don't like scans of their products being posted online, I'd take a guess and say they will still enforce that rule.
Ultimately it comes down to the individual moderator's discretion, but it's a grey area in the rules at best and you probably shouldn't risk it unless a mod explicitly states that it's fine.

SPOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOON!

If the media in question has already been released, its not a leak. So, there usually won't be any issues with posting "leaks" if you're not leaking anything. If the game has not been released, that rule still applies, and a ban will be incoming. As a general rule, if you have to think about something before you post it, and are worried you might be banned for it, its best to just not post it.

Magazine scans are copyright infringement though, and a perma ban is very likely for anyone who posts scans. Never post magazine scans, or any other kind of scan.

  • 11.29.2011 4:57 PM PDT

Aw, you don't have to do that.
