Subject: What if Noble Six had escaped in the Pillar of Autumn?

I prevail

Just imagine the possibilities: I like to think that maybe Keys (Jacob and Miranda) and even Sgt Johnson could have survived, new upcomings in the battles... it´s a brand new universe people.

He couldn't have. The only reason the Pelican made it to the POA was because Noble 6 shot down all those Phantoms and Banshees trying to take it down.

  • 11.29.2011 7:05 PM PDT

Why? If one Spartan had survived it hardly wouldn't have made a difference aside from maybe a faster run on the Ring although Gamma Company which consists of 300 of the best Spartans ever stated by Kurt(Or Mendez, can't remember) didn't make much difference either.

Um... No. All those banshees and phantoms were going for the Mass driver, not the Pelican.

Not sure what you mean there about Gamma company. Since they are in limbo likely to never have their story finished.

If six survived, there wouldn't have been as much trouble on Halo.

I'll have the roast duck . . . with the mango salsa.

Give 343i time. They will rewrite history and he will have survived Reach. You know, when they need to make more games.

If Noble 6 wasn't shooting them all down, they would be focusing on the Pelican.

Even if he hadn't been shooting at them they would've attacked the mass driver anyway.

Mass driver = threat to cruiser and them. Pelican does not.

Old GTs; RebelRobot, Flamedude

Personally if I was Keyes I would have sent those Marines that were in his Pelican to help out Noble Six.

Or maybe it was when Keyes had jumped away did he think "Oh damn we should have got Auntie Dot to control that Mass Driver. Oh well".

It's just one more Spartan. Still, if he had escorted keyes and Johnson and the marines into the Swamp Containment facility... Maybe all of them would have survived.

Just one more spartan could mean a lot.

Those two sent together, possible means they could refocus marines elsewhere.

Go in...kill....then.....TEA BAG!!!

just like how jorge died. those marines that survived had no ride so why didnt they stay behind since they were gonna die anyway and let jorge live. its all just for story, it doesnt have make since to be good. but personally i wouldve made the marines stay behind since they are less valuably then a spartan, and let noble 6 live.

From the cutscene, we can assume canonically they were all dead by that time.

Don't worry, you're still your mom's favorite Bnet member.

A Spartan never lets someone else - especially someone who isn't a Spartan - sacrifice themselves for them. Anyone remotely familiar with the Spartan mindset knows this.

I didn't know that and i want some examples to back that up seeing how halowars directly counters that.

Jajaja good one. And hey, why not bring back Jorge? He´s not dead, just gone (literaly).

Your one stop shop for all of 343's fabulous errors and ridiculous notions in the Halo lore.

The Supercarrier and Corvette were obliterated.

The corvette going inside out is bad for health I hear.

It depends on who does what when. Honestly it could change the entire plot of the trilogy. Especially if Cortana is never put in the control room.

You're using Halo Wars as evidence? I mean you can reference to it (it is canon afterall) but you can't really use individual events as proof. I mean there are a lot of mistakes made in it.

  • 11.30.2011 6:31 PM PDT

Then I guess Master Chief would have another Spartan by his side on his missions?

Nope. Spartans volunteer for the tough stuff. If there's something that needs doing but will result in death, and a lesser-trained marine volunteers, the Spartan would accept that volunteer. S/he knows that the Spartan will ultimately accomplish more, so s/he would be doing something counterproductive by staying behind.

Halo Wars, by having Forge stay behind instead, is a perfect example of this.

"I have a feeling that we're going to need all the spartans we can get."

i was talking about how Halo Wars isn't the most reliable evidence, I wasn't talking about the theory being correct or incorrect.

It isn't any worse or better than any other part of the franchise, it's reliable evidence.
