Sadly, I don't have the game yet but hopefully will soon, but this is just something I wanted to see.

Waffles > Pancakes. End of story.
I <3 Bungie :)

The graphics are perfectly done, everything looks beautiful. The addition of the skulls were nice, as it makes you re - explore the glorious world. The terminals have a very interesting story to tell and co op is a blast. Plus the maps for Reach are well done, and have actually gotten me interested in the MP again. Get it as soon as you can!

Its pretty good, although the 3d isn't perfect. The guns have some imperfections on 3d so you see the ghost of one of the images not lining up correctly, but only for the gun and only if you directly at the gun, when looking elsewhere on the screen its fine. I find that the new graphics also tend to cause some funny frame drops at times on my xbox, but that doesn't happen often, I blame Xbox's being old as crap 360 needs to be replaced ASAP. Anyhow, its really great, but I can't jump the flickering light bridge on that first level where you meet the flood, so I can't say much about the rest of it compared to the original.

This. It was a well done game, but it didn't give me that "Wow" factor that Halo: CE did. This could most likely just be because of the nostalgia attached to the original Halo. The skulls and terminals are a nice addition, and the new maps are pretty fun. They feel a little off balance to me though.

Also, the original sound effects are completely cut from the game. You can switch the music to classic but not the sound effects. :( No 2001 Assault Rifle sound!

Sometimes, I dream about cheese.

could of been better, however the part in the level 'keys' where you jump into the hole caused by a big explosion in the ship to fall into that liquid pouring out from broken parts of the ship was spectacular.
343i did a great job improving the liquid which looked like a glowing greenish goo in Combat Evolved to a transparent darker green liquid which reflects adjacent objects.

good so far, i have noticed a few inconsistencies with the original, but they're minor.

meh, it's all just a graphics update really, certainly worth a go, and we all know modern warfare three will just be modern warfare two with a light change of scenery, so the question is which game would you rather experience again, CE or MW2?

I will be playing through MW3 without a doubt, that was a real cliffhanger ending in MW2. But Halo is still better than any COD in my book so i'll be getting the remake, i will play MW3 when i get a chance though.

The remake is pretty great, but, it's not an exact recreation, as promised. Having logged embarrassing thousands of hours on CE, I know the game. Aside from a hundred little things I can think of, the death-o-meter is skewed. I know the core game. I know when I'm in trouble. In CEA, when I think, "Aw, crap, I'm about to get jacked," I suddenly die. That wasn't the case in the original. Things are slanted in it. I also hate the fact that Master Chief looks like John Goodman in armor. My buddy back in college was 6'7... And anyone who knows people that tall knows that they are all legs...Horrible design, 345...horrible design...

Actually, most of these things are caused by a fix in FoV/Resolution. The game wasn't originally meant to be running in widescreen so that's why Master Chief looks like "John Goodman". All of the models are the exact same as they always were.

No, they are not. The in-game skeletons match extremely closely to the old ones, and they adjusted stuff so that the hitboxes are similar. Beyond that, though, they went to town on the models. Proportions and shapes on individual areas on the models sometimes differ enormously (many units' arms in CEA, for instance, are far wider than their original versions), and the overall styling is quite different, being largely a conglomeration of Halo 3 and Reach assets.

A change in FoV can frame a model differently, but it doesn't cause the model to stretch as long as you're always viewing at the same aspect ratio as the console is outputting. The Master Chief should look pretty much the same whether you're viewing in 4:3 or 16:9.
