Inheritor #156 :p

Performance bonus is 20% of your game complete and only the winning team gets it.

You get commendation cR for capturing the flag (very low I know). They should have made it so you get more cR for capping a flag.

you get way more cr ignoring the flags and playing it like a slayer match. i want to know why that is.
Because Bungie was stupid and didn't add an incentive to actually play the objective.

Hold it right there.

Hello. Name's Brian. Look, if you're looking for a flame war with me, just open up the Flood and write up some not-nice things about religion and I'll bring my nukes to the party.

If you want some other way to contact me, you can forget it.

If you're interested in some of my work, you can check my homepage out.

The problem is that CR is what matters in the long run. This is why Halo 3 Objective games were more objective focused-- winning was the only way to rank up, and so people couldn't risk focusing on spawn camping on maps such as Last Resort.

Now, you get CR whether you lose or win, so might as well pick up a sniper and camp it out.

R.I.P. Halo 2 <33333333

if the game is going to be nothing but slayer the LEAST they could do is add a user created map section to matchmaking. if i have such a lack of variety why not let me open my maps to randoms in matchmaking?

am i the only one that can tell that the people that made this game are a bunch of total scumbags?
They used to have community BTB with only community levels, but, Idk where it went.

so they just left ctf in matchmaking to pretend it wasnt a completely one-dimensional game? the same holds true for all of the other gametypes so why even have them? is the rest of the community REALLY that -blam!- stupid?

It's more like they oversaw that. When you've got something as old as that system, you're probably not going to think of a repercussion like that. It's happened sometimes.

What I'm saying is that they intended to add several gametypes for fun, but it seems like the cR backfired in that aspect.

just like they oversaw:

multiple misnamed forge items

the left trigger in the theater does nothing even though the right trigger is fast forward and THERE IS NO REWIND!

helicopters and ww2 rifles 500 years in the future

etc.

its not oversight - theyre cheap, lazy and willing to cut as much as they can without letting on what theyre doing.

I'm sensing a load of bias in here, but let me explain something. When you're actually acquainted with the production of a game, especially one as large as this one, you're most likely going to overlook something.

I've seen the "Helicopter and WW2 rifles 500 years into the future" thing before a lot. It may be from the fact that when they first made those weapons that one time in Halo CEA there was no turning back, but in all honesty, that's not laziness from anyone's part. That's how the UNSC was designed to be. Maybe a bit outdated, but the UNSC as we know wouldn't be the same with plasma weaponry and lasers now would it?

then explain to me how they could have misnamed items in the forge. i noticed it after 15 minutes of getting acquainted with the pieces on the first day. thats a big god damned oversight to produce that many copies of a game with misnamed items - nevermind the abysmal theater mode.

Aye, can't say much about theater mode; don't use it much.

Misnamed items... could you give some examples?

5x1 short is not a short block. its flat. its just a longer version of 3x1 flat and its the same thickness as all of the flat pieces - not the short pieces. the piece is supposed to be 5x1 flat

the staircase doesnt have any stairs

Damn I facepalm'd hard on that one.

Good night OP.

I'll go elsewhere.

Forget it man, and get with the countdown. Shake this square world and blast off for Kicksville.

Reach host ranking algorithm: (a*quit_percentage + b*isMexican + c*(1/KDR) + d*hasGuest) * 100
where a > b = d > c

I think part of the problem is that some game developers never really grasp that in the online ecosystem, everything ends up reducing to the lowest common denominator. If the reward system doesn't directly encourage playing the objective, people will stop playing the objective. If the system even indirectly encourages holding the objective and slaying, that's what will happen.

It probably doesn't even occur to the QA department to play a CTF game with actually trying to capture the flag.
