Forge-created anything has no place in matchmaking, aside from a community playlist perhaps. Only official, ACTUALLY designed maps with original or at least non-forge resources have a place in competitive match making.

As far as capture the flag goes and credits, your absolutely right, the credit system is a just a dumbed down leveling mechanic that allows players who are terrible or not top tier, to reach max rank through time instead of skill, with more skilled players getting there faster.

It's only damaged the competitive nature of the game and encouraged: Spawn camping, boosting, generally terrible game-play when any objective game is in question. The 1-50 ranking system was not only fair, it was truly prestigious to get the max rank. Take for example halo 2, once you were past level 47 in matchmaking the curve to level up was INSANE. We're talking winning 20 games in a row and losing one and DERANKING. As crazy as it was it generally provided a much better rule of thumb about players as well. In halo 2 and 3 a level 50 was at the very least, GENERALLY not a scrub at the game.(there's always exceptions but much rarer in these cases)But In reach, you can go up against inheritors that are just garbage. The supposedly highest rank in the game, which means nothing. Awesome.

So to answer your question, I guess Bungie really WAS that retarded. They took a pedigree formula with the halo games and RUINED it with Halo reach. The recent anniversary stuff is fun, but it's just a small boon to making the game more like the other, much more fun halo titles. Say what you will about the Call Of Duty series, but they never reinvented the wheel, they just enhanced it a little more with each iteration, and in essence preserved the fun groundwork that makes all the call of duty titles commercially and generally overall successful...not doing the the whole which series is better thing, that's not my intent for mentioning COD lol.

I've already wrote far too much but I used to be a gigantic halo fan, ever since halo 1. Reach alienated me, it alienated my fandom to Bungie and broke several GOLDEN RULES of halo gameplay. (some of those rules have been restored thankfully, for example a stick with a plasma grenade is a guaranteed kill, regardless of Armor lock)

It took you more than a year to realize that the ranking system was automatic and has nothing to do with player skill.

The vast majority of you are Bungie.net trolls. And among the trolls we have two or three groups. 1)bungie haters. The haters can't come up with coherent opinions so they yell kick and scream, not unlike a 2-year-old. 2) The posers. These kids pretend to care about competitive play and discuss the validity of armor lock and bloom as if we are debating the the virtues of Keynesian economics. Sadly, this group doesn't know much about the former and nothing about the ladder. 3) ribbon chasers (that's a military term used to describe guys who only do things because they want to add to their ribbon collection, i.e medals). The RC's love the armor aspect of reach, think their rank means something, and love to complain about people who rank up fast.

So this post is about the performance Cr payout. Guess what, play firefight arcade and you'll get even more performance Cr than Team Objective. Best of all, you never lose a game of FF Arcade.

I'm so happy Bungie banned all the AFK people from Firefight. That really restored balance to the game.

You just now figured out how Reach works?
You'll be wanting to go back to Halo 3, where winning actually means something.

Honestly, at least my wall of text was on topic, your post about trolls, was ironically a TROLL post in my eyes. And another thing, there is a big difference between a poser and someone who genuinely is passionate about the game or whatever subject matter is at hand. Keynesian economics? Rather irrelevant comparison but whatever. (-blam!- Kenya.)

Also, the op wasn't saying he wasn't happy with the amount of credits he was getting, he was saying that there is no incentive to do the objective in objective games; and ergo, increasing the CP or SOMETHING for completing an objective would provide that much needed incentive to win the game and play the gametype.

But honestly, saying all this is like trying to solve an un-winnable situation. The fact that the games leveling is credit driven at all means that adding the aforementioned idea would only lead to people betraying for the flag or bomb to complete and get more credits, which completely defeats the purpose of improving the gametype. So in essence as long as Reach operates off a "credit-just-kill-people-and-finish-games" system to level objectives will never matter. Thus the whole damn game is broken in this regard.

When the game is over, the king and pawn go into the same box

The payouts for objective games need to be adjusted for objective medals. It's been a major flaw/complaint since day 1. And it's not just objective games, it's the reason why FF AFK was/is so prevalent.
