In a time long past, the armies of the dark came again to the lands of men. Their leaders became known as the fallen lords, and their terrible sorcery was without equal in the west.
In 30 years they reduced the civilized nations into carrion and ash. Until the free city of Madrigal alone defined them. An army gathered there, and a desperate battle was joined against the fallen
Heros were born in the fire and bloodshed of the wars which followed and their names and deeds will never be forgotten

So mass banning then?

Christmas 2007, the Halo 3 threads, never going to be matched

For me, it's the countless threads in the Halo 3 forum about the BR before the BR thread was invented. It was always hilarious to see al the responses people came up with. Also when Bungie gave away codes for the Halo Reach beta in the public forums. Spam galore!

@Halcylon - Got yer gold now!

I remember that weekly update that had 100+ Beta codes that were gone in 5 seconds.

I think the most fun I had on bungie.net was back in the Halo 3 days when I ran a successful (but now mostly dead) private group of 'alternative players.'

On December 1st, 2012, I met Neil deGrasse Tyson. I shook the man's hand, and even made him laugh. Not much else to do with my life now.

For me, it was that day that Miley Cyrus spammed threads about me.

For most Floodians, you'll know exactly what I'm talking about.

I almost thought this was a mad scheme to get Bungle maps more well known around the community. In disguise perhaps?

I just realized I have a couple more threads that were just hilarious.

The world is full of mysteries, and shares too few of the answers required. An example of which, is how did I end up in the Brute Zone?

Unfortunately, I hang out mostly on the Flood, but I am trying to emigrate from there...it has lost all forms of intelligence as the older members have left in the most part.

However, the Flood and Reach wars, now there was something...

Other than that? Meeting everyone at PAX was awesome. I guess that counts as I would never have gone there if I hadn't been a Bungie.net member.

And the Shadow fell upon the Land, and the World was riven stone from stone. The oceans fled, and the mountains were swallowed up, and the nations were scattered to the eight corners of the World. The moon was blood, and the sun was as ashes. The seas boiled, and the living envied the dead. All was shattered, and all but memory lost, and one memory above all others, of him who brought the Shadow and the Breaking of the World. And him they named Dragon.

Haha. That probably tops it.

When he was younger, he was the one who always had the jokes and riddles that would keep the spirits of the Spartans high. Over the years however, his lifetime of combat had hardened him, as it had all of the Spartans. Within Will, John thought, something special had been lost.

My most memorable memories on Bungie.net were times when moderators would ban people like both of you who flame or degrade other users.

I miss a time when or community was actually nice and everyone was cool. I am disappointied today to see people both new and old act so rudely towards me and each other. I am sick of it,

I wish the mods would issue longer bans so people like I have quoted spend some time reflecting on saying nicer things.

I am not trying to be a "jerk" or cause a scene by calling these people out but I am tired of dealing with this and it makes me sick to see fellow members of the community who feel the need to act so rudely towards me and incidently other people in the community.

I wish everyone would remember was are all united under the Blue Septagon. As 1 community, as friends.
Lol, y u so srs?

Lighten up, man.

Honestly, my favorite time being on here was likely 2007-2008, when New Flood and Flood V2 were relevant.

This whole website and its members really went to -blam!- after Reach.

Almost every member that has ever made this place interesting has moved on from the mains, or just left Bungie completely, and all we are left with are desperate community kiddies.

The worst series of trolls and asshats and spam in the last six years at least (and I'd presume before that too... though Zanzibar's prime-time was a bit before me...). And not a single Moderator could be found since... well, it was Xmas.

I was also banned at the time, so I couldn't use the report queue. It was a terrible experience to watch (I did for hours... even banned I stalked the Halo 3 forum... it was my baby). Be glad you weren't there for it.
