Woah, we got a badass here.
Funfact: people can like different thngs and share opinions. I have another freind who went through two CoD 4 disks (as a casual gamer, he just liked screwing around a ton in that game, yet still held a KDR of something in the 1.2s), always said Halo was a terrible game, never touched it until sometime in 2009, when he came over and I forced him to play Halo 3.
He never went above a .66 KDR after something like 20 games, and asked why he couldn't do good in the game. I simply told him, the game was stripped of many gimmicks. You have to rely on your own awareness and skill with the gun you're using. He went home and bought the game that day, and started getting into it moreso. He contacted me over XBL and said he never had as much fun in a game before, it was genuinely holding his interest for hours on end. He never got that good at it, but he enjoyed it.
When MW2 came out, he forgot about Halo and moved onto that. When I told him Reach was coming out in September 2010, and when he went to go buy it, he played the game for a few hours, said how much he thought the game was nowhere near as fun as Halo 3, because of bloom and AL. He then tried to get into it by playing for a couple days, but couldn't, and shelved the game, almost never playing it anymore. When he does, he gets so worked up because of AL and bloom that he can only stand to play two or three games. He went back to playing MW2 until Blops came out, and just went on like he did with CoD 4, before I introduced him to Halo 3.

Another example,
One friend who was really into COD. He said that COD took more skill than Reach. I didn't argue, just asked him why. He said Armor Lock and Bloom. He wasn't a very big Halo guy, so the other flaws like OP grenades and no bleed through didn't make themselves apparent to him.
I then asked what he thought of Halo 3. He said that it takes a lot more skill than Reach and COD.
Everyone with an IQ above table thinks (knows) this game sucks. The whole "Halo just isn't as popular" explanation doesn't make up for the fact that we're not even in the top five population wise anymore.
Those are nice stories. I don't believe you. I think it's odd that you happen to have so many friends who don't play Halo, yet have opinions about the game that agree with yours.
I can understand how Armor Lock can be annoying, but how does Bloom decrease the skill level required to play the game? If anything, Bloom would increase the amount of skill you need to kill someone.
Your last paragraph is really stupid. Just stop complaining about things that nobody cares about and enjoy the game.
