so manly even my sentences don't have periods
Yep - it's not the 'recommended' message...it's the 'flashing 'you do not have the maps required for this playlist' message.
Nope - don't have CEA. I'm currently away in Australia for a year, and am stuck with a stupid 10GB per month download limit that's shared with 3 other people so can't buy digital download atm, and i'm totally not down with buying new games over here as they cost about 3 times as much as back in the UK. (Seriously, Aus and US dollar are about 1:1 at the moment, and a new game typical price is ~$100).
To the other guy - cheers for the constructive reply. I know that premium is for DLC. My problem, as i stated, is that the anniversary maps are hardly actually DLC for Reach - the maps are for a different game ( Halo: CEA and Halo: Reach having different entries in the xbox live online activity charts).
It's just something i find irritating. The same thing happened with Halo 3 when ODST came out...had bought all the previous map packs for Halo 3, and didn't want to buy ODST at the time as i had a number of other games to play/finish, and try tyo stick to a budget when buying games. All of a sudden, I found that I couldn't play any of the DLC playlists as i didn't have the Mythic disc, whereas I actually had bought the mythic map pack for Halo 3, and just didn't have the ODST disk.
I just think that there should be an intermediary set of playlists for game specific DLC. At the end of the day I have supported the game by buying the DLC for it, and I shouldn't be penalised for not buying a different title.
The fact you can still buy the Noble and Defiant map packs independantly infers that you can play them without having to buy any other DLC, whereas in reality you can't...doesn't exactly encourage player loyalty.
