We are all going to get banned aren't we?

no more of that covenant BS

Despite the pathetic spelling errors Frankie clearly says that Forerunner story was written before the Reclaimer trilogy was. They are also taking pieces from Glasslands and putting them in the game.

Thus the game is pretty much being based off the books; which is how it should be.

Damn. It's a shame Halo Reach didn't side along with TFoR so well. Where were these guys when that slip-up happened?

But, at least we've got good news for the future.

At the same time, they say they are okay with tweaking the lore to making interesting things happen in the game.

Which means you might see something like Reach-TFoR happen again.

Given that the Reclaimer Trilogy is a sequel, the damage won't be quite as bad. The thing with prequels is that when they tend to rewrite information and end up worse off as a result because the previous info is already there.

>Was expecting Redlettermedia

Even so, there is still canon in the future. What if something were to happen that retcons the Return? That is still a possibility.

Cryptum was a good novel, but I hope the other novels will be better.

Hmmm I'm hoping that Frankie is just saying that they will mess with the lore to add new gameplay elements (weapons, vehicles, armor etc) into the storyline with no explanation required. From that article I have the nagging suspicion that they are preemptively stating that they will mess with the storyline behind everything Halo to suit the particular game they are working on.

I just hope they make the Chief look like the Chief. That Halo 4 trailer..... he looked like a fan art creation.

"I will show you how a true Prussian officer fights!"

"And i will show you where the iron crosses grow..."

- "Cross of Iron"

Sounds good to me. A new story built off those books should be very interesting!

Thank god. I swear, this game better be more story focused. I really don't care if the multiplayer is good or not, all I want is an amazing story.

-blam!- Was that actually blammed out? Or did I just type it? You'll never know.

Well I think we all already knew it was going to be Forerunner based. It's going to be hard for them to keep that sense of mystery and wonder though when they're actively taking apart their biggest element of it. Although I suppose new questions will be raised.

I'm not sure, because he also said "The game is the king". But either way, that's just fine.

I'm just happy they also stated that gameplay rules over that, so that means plot won't get in the way of the details of a Halo game (aka, consistency).

What's wrong with tweaking the canon? I don't want the story to be predictable.

Gameplay elements like new weapons and vehicles in a game where we've never seen them before, like with Reach, happen because it's a game with no reflection on story chronology.
