"Tolerance of intolerance is cowardice." - Ayaan Hirsi Ali

So I got a new HD tv, and I've finally found a use for the 360 HDMI I received for my last birthday, and I was wondering how I would connect my Turtle Beach headset so that I would still be able to have the audio run through the head set, because whenever I play Reach, the audio goes through the television, which makes late night gaming extremely difficult.

The Headset is an X11, simple, but it gets the job done.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. :)

Does your TV support audio out?

'Audio Out' is your friend. It should be on any model of TV's from '95 and up, especially an HDTV, they're practically mandatory.
I have my audio out connected to a switcher that has a headset port on it, for easy access whenever I want to wear my headphones.

Depending on which model of turtle beach you have, you may need to purchase an AV adapter for your Xbox. The adapter is slimmer than the one you got with your Xbox that allows both HDMI and AV. I have an X-31 and that's what I had to do. I got mine from GameStop. Many of the newer TVs only have 1 audio out and mine was being used by my soundbar.

I just connected my turtle beach headset to my Xbox. That was all I need to to do. Then I muted the TV. Since my Xbox was running an HDMI cable, I can't split the audio and video like I did with the components. I have the X41s and they came with a Digital Optical Cable that I connect to a small port on the back of my Xbox 360S.

Put the volume down?

Ohai, I'm Loscocco (pronounced Loss-cocoa). I'm a college student (computer science major), 3D animator, and long-time Halo player.

I use Turtle Beaches while doing HDMI. Plug the red and white input cables from the headset into the ports on your TV labeled "Audio Out": despite the fact that you are running HDMI, your audio is still controlled through those ports.
