Genuinely curious.

I'm just wondering how is it that in all other gametypes there are no problems this noticeable, then when you enter the Grifball playlist one team has a clear advantage with almost godlike maneuvers.

I mean being able to swing their hammers 3 consecutive times (Supposed to be 1 swing and a brief moment of vulnerability), killing you from almost 4x the distance you can, being able to hit you without even facing your direction, etc.

I am aware you need to adapt to the lag, and it is possible to still do very well despite being at such a disadvantage, but sometimes you get in a game and the amount of advantage the host holds is just insurmountable.

RC Clone is the anti-thesis of a lurker.

Because instant kill melee weapons are instant kills.

Host always has an advantage no matter what you play.

spiral out

It matters in other playlists too, only grifball is insta-kill and fast paced so its noticable.

You do realize only one person is host right? An entire team can't be host.

Some people go in with a bad host, but it's a host they all connect to really well, meaning their attacking/position data is transferred faster than yours is, effectually making them do the thing where you smack them, then they attack and walk off unharmed.

The hammer speed thing is the same, you think they just hammered, leaving them open to be killed, but the delay is enough that on their screen they get enough time to swing right as/before you attack, ending up making it look like they just double-swung.

I never got the whole 'hostball' thing, since I actually do worse when I'm host, as you have a farther hammer range if you are non-host(not exactly, more network related stuff, but effectually), host just has priority on his swings counting first. So it's good against people you can juke, but if you're fighting people who are laggy, they out-range you.
