MROS (Mindless Rabble of Scientists) - A group to discuss any aspect of science

Hard is good.

I rarely see these kinds of threads locked. Is it because moderators can't decide between a real or fake story without the risk of offending someone who was actually undergoing a problem?

I'm not suggesting I think they should or should not be locked more frequently (because many people treat this website as a lot more than a website and would confide in the forums with such things), I was merely wondering why there are a preponderance of topics left open that sceptics had descended upon with a fury.

If there's discussion value in it, or if a mod has reason to believe it's true enough, it won't be locked. If it's just a blog it can be.

Maybe?

If I am not posting, then I am reading what you might have posted.

The beta is super awesome. RogueAssassin27 is now the person who got my Totodile's nickname. Hoo-hah! Relevant.inb4lock

Honestly, if a story was that serious, I wouldn't be going to the Internet for comfort.

When he was younger, he was the one who always had the jokes and riddles that would keep the spirits of the Spartans high. Over the years however, his lifetime of combat had hardened him, as it had all of the Spartans. Within Will, John thought, something special had been lost.

No joke. Something serious happened to a friend of mine today, and it didn't take two seconds to decide B.net let alone Facebook was not the place to post about it. You're almost asking for the abuse when you put it up on places like this.
