Sow a thought and you reap an action; sow an act and you reap a habit; sow a habit and you reap a character; sow a character and you reap a destiny
~Emerson, Ralph Waldo

When I play grifball I always run into the following problem.(I am the same distance away from my opponent, I swing my hammer fisrt (nothing happens) he swings his, and I die). After going into theater I watch the file to see if i can explain the problem I find that neither of us moved closer/farther away from each other and I swing first but I still die.. And my retical is aimed right over his chest. any explanation would be great its an ongoing problem.

Halo <3 Its not about winning. But just make sure your K/D is positive :D

1cm could make all the difference, after you die adjust what you do.... like if you hit first and died try to hit later, and if you died and they hit you first try to hit earlier, if you have not played grifball in a while it will take you a while to adjust so that you win most of your 1v1s hammer vs hammer

His connection is better. On your screen you sung first. But according to the host, he did. What the host says goes so he wins. Happens all the time in a game like that. Nothing to be done about it, sorry.

i was thinking that could be it because he did that to me the whole game. But its still frustrating.

Grifball is all about timing, learning how close you have to be to someone to kill them. The only bad thing is that this will change from game to game depending on the quality of the host. All I do is spend the first round working out the best time to swing, and to try and identify if the host is on the other team.

Just keep practicing, eventually you will get the hang of it.

There is also a sort of lenience towards a player with a multikill streak going, it's almost impossible to beat a guy who's on a multikill path, without backing away and waiting for it to pass before approaching him.
I pulled off a Killionaire with the bomb because of this, and I was struck nearly every time I punched someone, several of the hits were when I had no health left at all, not even a single bar.
I never died until after the announcer said Killionaire, then I was whacked as usual.

if he had a good connection will gives all the players an equal chance about who dies first, thats why when i run into an US host i quit without hesitating because i know that thier connection is rubbish, in the other hand, when i play with EU host i have an equal chance as the host for who's dying firs,t and yeah still the host has the advantage

If you're Australian you've automatically earned underdog status bro. Grifball is more about host and connection over anything. Guess it's been mentioned countless times already. Really the best thing you can do is run in for the kill without hesitation and get a tradeoff, or bob and weave constantly while your opponent runs in blindly and hope your refined skill gets you out of it; the latter being a boring method of playing grifball - you'll only end up with a better "average life" more than anything else.
