Here's a thread of my group ideas

Okay I really like some of those ideas. Do we know when the update is going to happen? I would really like to see many things on this list get implemented!

I cannot agree more with the idea about changing the signing in with WLID.

Very smart and beneficial ideas. How about the thread symbol not being covered by the golden septagon when an employee posts? Maybe if the symbol is outlined in gold?

How about if the post box was a little friendlier to the current "forbidden characters," so that people who copy and paste something from somewhere else don't have to find the characters that the site doesn't like.

Also, a toggle-able blam filter would be nice.

Our community needs a thread that lists all projects, site improvements, and updates that we want to see on the new bungie.net. This thread has been a work in progress for quite sometime. Please feel free to make more suggestions and discuss what you would like to see in the next site update.

Lets make Bnet 2012 a great, new and improved version of the website we all love. Enjoy!
I know you have mentioned some of the following in your original post, but these are the changes I would like to see.

Logon
It's safe to say that Bungie's future games (Destiny 1-4, Marathon, ect.) are intended for multiple platforms, such as Xbox, Play Station, and PC. I would like Bungie to have their own logon system (email and password), which would be associated to your profile and also the way to retrieve your password. You would then be able to attach and remove services. For example, attaching a Windows Live ID would allow your Bungie.net profile to display Destiny statistics for your Xbox LIVE gamertag.

Search
/Forums/posts.aspx?postID=56330523

Message Center
Currently, messages from the same user are displayed separately and users cannot view their sent messages from the website. I would like Bungie to combine messages from the same user and show sent messages. This is known as a conversation view and could be displayed just like a thread is displayed in a forum. In addition, I would like group messaging to be enabled, which would essentially be private threads.

Profile
I would like profile URLs to be changed from an ID number to your unique username. An example of this would be bungie.net/user/cryptic. It would also be cool if users could leave comments on profile pages.

Forums
Remove the Classifieds forum, but add a page to submit advertisements (Bungie.net groups, cool websites, great promotions) to appear on the front page of Bungie.net. Rename The Gallery Forum to The Media Forum. Combine the Halo Combat Evolved Forum and Halo 2 Forum. Rename it Halo 1 & 2 for Xbox. Create a Destiny forum.

When viewing the forum index, the "Forum Topics" button should be replaced with a "Back to Forums List" button.

When viewing a thread, there should be a "Back to top" at the bottom of the page. The forum index looks good, but I'd rather have the top forum topics and action buttons on the left side. The pinned stickies and topics should be displayed on the right.

There should be a permalink displayed on posts so you can directly link them easily. I wouldn't mind an option to share a post on external websites, such as Facebook and Twitter.

Groups
Allow a user to remove their request to join a group with restricted membership. Allow group names to start with a number. Allow groups to be accessed at bungie.net/group/[quick linkname]. Add a "Closed" group membership option that prevents users from joining.

Allow Founder to be linked to an account. If founder account is deleted, make current owner the founder. Display current administrators on the group homepage. Let groups have an owner. The owner would be a super administrator and therefore, could not be removed by other administrators. Ownership could be transferred.

Fix the Edit Security permission so you cannot promote a user to a role that has permissions you do not have. Fix the Kick Members permission so you cannot remove a user who has permissions you do not have or a user who has the kick members permission.

Split the Edit News permission into Edit My News, Edit Other's News, Delete My News, and Delete Other's News. Split Edit Other's Posts into Edit My Posts and Edit Other's Posts. Split Delete Posts into Delete My Posts and Delete Other's Posts. Split Moderate Forum into Reveal Banned Posts, Pin/Unpin Threads, and Lock/Unlock Threads. Split Post to Forums into View Forum, Create New Topic, Post In Unlocked Threads, and Post In Locked Threads. Split Create Resource Entry into Create Resource Entry and Submit Contact Information. Split Edit Any Resource Entry into Edit My Resource Entries, Delete My Resource Entries, Edit Other's Resource Entries, and Delete Other's Resource Entries.

Add unlimited custom titles for group members, which would be different than their security role. Add a system for automatic promoting/demoting (changing security roles and/or custom titles) determined by rules set by group owner.

When a NonMember, blacklisted from a group, joins that particular group, he or she should be put into the member queue, even if the group membership is open.

Group notifications/bulletins, different forum layout, different page layouts, polls, additional forums, filtering, searching group news/posts, and more customization would be a plus.

Food For Thought
An option to browse Bungie.net on a secure connection (https) whenever possible would be great.

Listing the users currently viewing a forum at the bottom of the page could be interesting to some people. Being able to IM chat with them on that same page would be interesting as well.

A community page similar to the old Seventh Column page or Tru7h and Reconciliation page would be cool. This page could display statistics as well as the most recent Classifieds, a group spotlight, a member spotlight, upcoming events that Bungie will be at (Comic-Con, PAX, ect), online get togethers (community carnage, tournaments, ect), and more.

Implementing an event feature that would help organize online get togethers for Destiny would be great.

OP - You're a dumbass with the reading comprehension skills of a second grader.

Can someone tell me what's wrong with these two, this made me LOL hard.

I'd like to have a sign in that isn't really directed to Microsoft Live.

I'd like to be able to "thank" people when I agree with a point they've made. Because, y'know, THAT make's sense.

For Realzies: I'm surprised nobody's mentioned it yet, or if they have then Spawn just hasn't seen it, but I'd like to see another title after Mythic. I'm not quite in favor of "Ancient" as that's really Bungie's thing for the Decathlon. I am however in favor of "Magnificent Member", with a purple title bar.

Example.

We should know better, because we are better.

I think the ability to be notified when you are quoted might be beneficial. For example, you might be in a discussion in a large thread and you want to know if someone is talking to you rather than having to check the thread every few replies.

You can always just use this tool to solve that problem for you :)

The sign in could change, just like the ideas that Cryptic and evilcam suggested, we really have no idea though. However, discontinuing from WLID entirely isn't going to happen anytime soon. It's the only way Bungie knows what your gamertag is.

I have realized that as well. Although, I'm sure there is probably going to be a revamp of the title system anyways. I would like to see a title above "mythic" as well. There are many users who have been here for 6,7,8, or even 10 years. Also: That's a really ugly purple IMO. I will add something like this to the OP.

I was looking through the HTML colors and couldn't find the right purple so I thought Deep Orchid sounded pretty chill. I shall attempt to re-do.

If you are watching this you have clicked on my profile or stolen this. I dont know why you would do that...

About me? I love Astronomy, I like to play guitar and watch anime. My future lies in Astronomy and so does the future of all of humanity. You should join my Astronomy group Space Explorers.

Something that has been bugging me a lot is how I always run out of characters whenever I write my weekly update for my group.

Having it at 3975 characters is limiting the potential of my updates. I have to leave out a lot of interesting information and some fun. I just reached 500 characters over the limit on the one I just made. Why can we have 10,000 characters for forum posts when we rarely even use that much while group news need that much? (I am not saying we should limit the characters of forum posts down, I like that as it is)

So what I want is:

-More characters for making group news (Maybe not more than 5000)
