When you know the enemy team has one (whether it's the only one or not) or both snipers, you put on camo and crouch across the open walkways/spaces because you feel that's the only way you can move around without getting sniped?

I do this generally all the time to avoid getting sniped when I know they have the sniper, but it mostly applies for me on Uncaged, Boardwalk, and Asylum (if they charge your base and the sniper is watching, it is difficult to defend unless the sniper cannot see you). I don't see my teammates doing this as much, and they sometimes end up getting sniped or they end up making it. The effectiveness of the technique is in question, but I was wondering if others do it or have done it.

People often have the sense of "just run at him, he'll run out of ammo eventually."
That's why I stopped playing Infection, even before the "patch" about friendly fire.

But for a Sniper, avoiding his sight is a good idea, sneak up on him.

The concept of the idea is generally nice, but it still has some perks. One, Your a blurry spot. Two, You can move very slowly by the time you get all the way across he would have seen your blurry spot by moving so slow.

Sorry, let me clarify. I would basically use this to move from "cover to cover" or out of the sniper's line of sight (LOS). The whole point is to avoid the sniper's LOS at all costs because I'm at a serious disadvantage with a pistol/DMR/NR/whatever. Once I'm out of his LOS, I don't bother to flank him or try to take him out but rather take out his other teammates while maneuvering to avoid his LOS. It sounds overly complicated, but basically I determine where he is, use camo to move from cover to cover until I'm out of his sight and can comfortably move/shoot his other teammates who rush. The distance this would be at would make it indistinguishable to the normal player, but I'm sure a pro or super-good-player would be able to spot the blurriness if they looked hard, though snipers normally scan quickly for easy kills.

So the strategy is not really for flanking or anything with the goal of taking the sniper out. It's more a halo(story)-flood type approach where I get out of his LOS and deny him kills and continue on with the game. Usually the snipers are well set up or have teammates that spawn around them anyways.

He who cannot command himself should obey. And many can command themselves, but much is still lacking before they can obey themselves.

Yet another reason I sold Reach. Thanks, OP.

Name's John. I'm a 21-year-old firefighter/EMT from lolhio who doubles as a die-hard Halo fan. I've been enjoying the franchise since 2001. My favorite iteration of Halo would have to be Halo 2 simply because I never got to experience the joy of a full-on Halo: CE LAN.

If you have any other questions, feel free to ask.

Oh yeah, and boot Zome.

If they're a good sniper, you'll get killed anyway.

Out of curiosity, are you upset here because (a) you can't move around without getting sniped (i.e. spawns suck on some maps, like uncaged) or (b) because when you get the sniper people use camo to move around to avoid it?

I don't play Reach.

Well, I'm not upset.

But, to clarify, because of all the AAs in Reach, not just camo.
