Making negative comments about someone when it serves no purpose is mean. Honesty don't excuse that. The initial "mean comment" made by me was only an observation that served to mock the modders who, in this scenario, are indeed quite bad at the game to resort to petty tricks like cheating.
First, what value do you think there is in saying this to me? Is there some noble purpose in telling me my friend isn't as good as I think he is? If so, please tell me what it is. If not, then maybe you're not as nice a person as you think you are. You stated that he normally does "well". His stats and the display of his playing style defy that. There's nothing noble about it, nor intended by it. I am merely arguing against your point that he plays "well" normally. I'm not mocking him for it; it's just how it is.
I disagree with your assessment of his stats. He does fine most of the time. Granted, he doesn't do as well as you, but apparently even your skill level isn't enough to make you feel good enough about yourself not to feel the need to run other people down. Hey, just being honest. If I don't feel good about myself, then why would I feel the need to "run down" another person? If anything, it would be the other way around. However, considering that I was simply giving an honest assessment of his playing ability based off of his stats to counter your point that he normally does well, I'm not "running down" anyone, so your point is moot. There's no reason he should feel bad because he cannot prosper in a video game because of its irrelevance to anything important.
His stats say he's only been playing since August and has only played 392 competitive games. Whatever his stats are, my point stands. There is no reason to disparage him. The discussion is about the weirdness in the game, not my friend's skill level. If you or RC Clone or anyone else feels the need to go there that says something about you as it's not germane to the subject.
It's typical that the stats of a player who has been playing for a short while to go down as he plays more games because more games are taken into account, and the averages become more centered. I'm not disparaging him. I do not think badly of him for being of lesser skill than the average player because ,again, it's irrelevant to anything important. This entire "argument," as it were, stemmed from a comment made by you anyway, and I do apologize if I have offended you for trying to give my assessment on your friend's playing ability. Whatever the case, this current discussion is, as you pointed out, irrelevant to the topic at hand and I shall discontinue my replies concerning this subject.
