OP it's a video game ...

But seeing as you want to compare it to real life, explain these whilst you're at it:

How does Dante have infinite ammo in Ebony and Ivory?
How do Pinata's come to life?!
How do women with next-to-nothing on manage to get no scars from swords or any other weaponry in the Soul Calibur series?

See where I'm going here?

Just read my first post. It proves how it's possible with today's knowledge.

Jorge: Bad news is: timer's fried, gonna have to fire it manually.
Noble 6: That's a one way trip...
Jorge: We all make it sooner or later. Better get going, Six, they're gonna need you down there. Listen, Reach has been good to me, it's time to return the favor. Don't deny me this... Tell em' to make it count.

But the knife on your spartan is not the knife used to kill your victim, the spartan pulls the killing knife out of thin air.
Magic knife = dead anything.

We have a winner.

Hey, uh, if you like vs threads, then check out this little group right here, if you have the time. It's pretty fun, just hop right in.

What? No, campaign SPARTANS have $15 billion armor. The ones in MatchMaking wear cardboard and duct tape.

google three words you clowns; straw, tree, tornado.

straw can indeed pierce the wood of an upright tree. It all comes down to kinetic energy.

He's right. There have been stories of steel getting pierced by blades of grass during a tornado.

Why is hypocrite spelled with an E at the end?
The I in crite is not pronounce as eye.

So, on the one hand I spell it out exactly as it should be.
You follow the standard set before you by fools who can't even get a handle on the rules of their own language.

I want my elephant back.
Give it to me now!
(Please?)

Me.

lol

Actually, a straw can pierce a tree a quarter of an inch going at 320 mph. Proved on Mythbusters:

Propelling a piece of straw at a palm tree at a distance of 50cm at 320mph (the world record for recorded wind speed at ground level), the straw only managed to penetrate the tree a quarter of an inch.

Life is a journey, if you spend all of it with your nose in your map, you may miss some of the best parts.

The black part is the thinnest since its covering the internal tubes and wiring.

Also it's a video game.

Your presence here is quite unneeded. Begone you!!!

carbide blade knife with a sharp edge will have sufficient penetration force to completely f*** up your day

"For us, the storm has passed. The war is over. And let us never forget those who journeyed into the howling dark, and did not return. For their decision required courage beyond measure. Sacrifice, an unshakable conviction that their fight... our fight... was elsewhere. As we start to rebuild, this hillside will remain barren, a memorial to heroes fallen. They ennobled all of us, and they shall not be forgotten."

A lot of guns are gas propelled.. And a lot of newer guns have ammo displays as well. And this was Reach, the Covenant weren't supposed to find it. Remember? Lol remember? So I don't know if they could've issued out new knives that quickly. And Elites did have a lot of mushy parts.
Lol r3m3mb3r arb1tr? lolremembir?

On Topic: Reach was the base of everything. They needed tight defenses, so they wanted soldiers to be prepared. Also, there were a good amount of titanium mines in Reach. They could have made the knifes while making the armor.

I always thought the knives where made of tungsten for some reason...

I'm an Anarchist. I don't need a government to be a good person, but I'm glad it's here because some of you clearly do.

Reference Halo: Ghosts of Onyx

The vast majority of Covenant technology including shields is based upon forerunner technology (the species that built Halo and the Ark, and whatnot). The Forerunners built Sentinels to protect and maintain their most important creations.

Spartan III's were fighting Sentinels on the planet Onyx and discovered that bullets would not penetrate a Sentinel shield but throwing rocks would. This means that an object needs to be traveling at a certain velocity in order to activate the shields the Sentinels were using.

You could argue that a Spartan wielding a combat knife would intentionally not exceed the minimal velocity to activate the shields, though for whatever reason would when Meleeing.

At least Im not the one arguing with facts like the physics of the universe.

Why not stop by my File Share while you're here?

~Long Live Halo 2
Only regret is I didn't play more of it.

If you haven't noticed by now, I'm sort of a jerk.

Just one more thing for you to rage about.

  • 12.04.2011 5:11 PM PDT

No point to it, when you think about it.

The knife is made of the same metal the MJOLNIR armour is made of. Being propelled by a Spartan's fist helps.
