Subject: On the Subject of Ban History

For whatever reason, our full ban history is hidden from us, and the Mods are instructed to not divulge said information to us.

I mean, if we haven't yet deleted our PMs, we can still go through our inbox and find all of the PMs from Disembodied Soul. The fact that they don't let us see it or allow the Ninjas to show us hinders us in seeing it, rather than stopping us altogether.

I feel that it would be beneficial to allow us to view our full ban history, so as to also allow us to reflect upon our previous mistakes; that is the point of bans, and the point of punishment altogether.

Why do you think the Web Team doesn't allow us to see our full history? Do you think they should?

I really don't know anything about being banned. I haven't even been warned yet. But don't you see your "most recent ban history" on your profile?

You people have just sent my sides into orbit. A bunch of MLG try hards sucking the dick of some supposed pro half the thread hasn't even heard of. Classic.

I do not need to see how many times I banned myself thank you very much. If you are getting banned so much that you need to go back and look at all past 25 infractions then you probably are beyond hope.

You could use this nifty list of what not to do.

13.72 billion years in the making.

On December 1st, 2012, I met Neil deGrasse Tyson. I shook the man's hand, and even made him laugh. Not much else to do with my life now.

I haven't deleted any ban notices, warnings, or messages from moderators.

I like to know where I stand. I was going strong, but then True Underdog carpet banned me the night with all those Master Chief quotes. I replied to one of the threads asking what was going on because I got on in the midst of the whole thing. Yeah, that completely deserved a ban.

Guess I'm beyond hope then.

If your reading this you are more bored than I am. Well I guess is where I put something here and you are supposed too enjoy it lol. I play 360 not so much of the PS3 but I might get one in the future. I drive a Ford and ride KTM.

I've been lurking around this site sense 07' and havn't been banned sense. Just stay on topic and try not to harass someone to much.
Why would you want a list of your bans? Most people can remember what the ban/warning was for.

Get Bungie mobile app.
Go to your inbox.
Find a message from disembodied soul.
Get full ban history.

Because for some reason the Bungie mobile app messaging system is much better than the one on the actual website.

Well, as Achilles put it, I'm "beyond hope". I have 22 infractions, if my counting is correct. Sadly, the option to go through my inbox and find all the notices is not an option, either.

EDIT: At least on the site it isn't. Komark's method may work, though.

You've only been here for a little over 14 months, or 62 weeks.

Are you saying you get banned more often then every 3 weeks?

On topic: I don't see why we shouldn't be allowed see our full moderation history.

I'm not exactly sure. No messages from Disembodied Soul are to be found in my inbox (on Bungie Mobile). They are there in my inbox here on Bnet, but they're not there on the app.

EDIT: Yup. 22 infractions. Most of them for spam/alts.

It doesn't actually list all infractions on the app. I've been banned 3 times (I think), but the app only lists my latest one from January.
I guess the app only lists what's actually in your inbox?

On the topic as to whether we should be able to see all our history, I don't see why not.
I'm indifferent on it, though, to be honest.

Yeah, or warning.

But only one.

I actually want to see less of my ban history. I really don't need to be reminded I was carpet banned 40 months ago.

I don't understand why they don't just make a page where we can check it out. If you want to see it, go ahead; if you don't, don't. Convenient and possibly useful.

I tweet?

This. Can I have an option to hide my most recent ban history from my view? At least put it on a separate tab. If down that way you could devote the whole thing to full ban history for those who do wish to reflect on past misdeeds.

I don't really care all too much to see the whole thing.

I was a finalist :P

Those ignorant of history, are doomed to repeat it.

I wouldn't mind having this feature, seeing as it would probably be a direct link from your profile, to another page (such that you don't have to see it if you don't want to...ever). Either that, or scan through your past messages to find what ban (or warning) you're looking for, or even PM a moderator to get a list of your ban history - which is far less convenient.

This, although it's at the bottom, so it couldn't hurt. I think it would be good as a separate tab like saved threads.

  • 12.04.2011 3:30 PM PDT

You may be special but that doesn't mean you're useful

I've only ever received on warning from Nedus over a year ago for creating a pointless thread titled "meh". I was extremely bored at the time and just wanted to see what would happen.

Seems a little stupid on reflection though.

OT: Seeing your ban history really shouldn't even effect you in anyway at all. Surely you should be learning your mistakes from the actual down time you spend from the site thinking about what you did wrong and telling yourself not to do it again?

  • 12.04.2011 3:34 PM PDT

Mine would be really long and annoying.
