I think that's just your browser loading things funny. We've already grabbed all of the map pieces from the site :)

Image 2 As I said above, I believe it's "Puerto Drink", think of it like Puerto Rico, which literally translates to mean "Rich Port". So in English "Puerto Drink" Is just "Drink Port", or "Port Drink".
Although there is no doubt that the "D" really looks like d, I think it could very well be O. Why? First of all, "Orin" is the only word you can get out of it that actually means something in Spanish. While drink would also fit very well, for me it just seems awkward that there would be Spanish and English mixed in the name.
I don't have very good ways of explaining why it looks so much like D. Could be an error by the artist. Accidental line drawn and left unfixed as it's clearly not the main point of the map.
Anyway, Orin just sounds so fitting as it would make the town "Rust Harbor" which in my opinion sounds like a very fitting name for an old harbor town that has already seen it's best days.As fantastic as that could be. It looks like the text is actually a custom font and not painted. Compare any of the letters to another one. An R to an R. Identical (at least in terms of shape; some of it looks erased). Compare the "D/O" to the other "O" in Puerto and you'll find it looks like a D. I think that the straight edge can't have been a mistake. Good call though. Rust Harbour sounded awesome.

Great thread. Do you have an ETA on part 3?Not as such. I'm working in a bunch of other projects on top of this one. 3 2D (1 actually being 2.5D) platformers, 1 RTS, 1 Bungie-themed Mario Kart game, a Blitzball remake, and I'm also looking for an actual job.
This is just superduper on the side. I am working on the layers of it though. The 3D model was constructed with a heightmap (an image comprising of black-white values to determine height, with white being the highest), so I'll tweak that appropriately considering we now have a clear mountain graphic and then I'll also use that as part of my painting. It should be pretty easy to get it done, though.

I was reading the trademark description, and the term 'virtual reality game software' caught my eye. Is this normal on video games? I'm saying this because it says both computer and video game before this in the description.
Yes, this is normal on video game trademarks.Yeah, it is. Especially games that are set to be in a semi-realistic world like Halo, CoD, WoW. That's because it replicates reality. So at least we know it's not going to be an arcade game like Tetis :)
