So you mean it would be a bit like Deus Ex with multiple large free roam cities or like world of warcraft with large continents each being separated by a load screen?
I have no idea, but I wouldn't be surprised if it was a first-person version of something like WoW.

Also, I don't know if anyone has already reported this but hey....

I was messing about on Google translate, changing drin into different languages and seeing what came up. Most languages either added and A or I. But, in German Drin means 'In It', in Welsh it means 'Treat', and in Dutch it menas 'Urgent'. Just thought I would say. Don't think this changes anything but hey.
I keep seeing people say that they think it says "Drin". Looks more to me like there's a "K" on the end.

Heh. That says "Scale 40000".

Image 2 As I said above, I believe it's "Puerto Drink", think of it like Puerto Rico, which literally translates to mean "Rich Port". So in English "Puerto Drink" Is just "Drink Port", or "Port Drink".

Image 3Kinda looks like it says "Triple Twin Peaks"? Though that doesn't make a lot of sense. Or "Triple Two Pulse"....definitely "Triple" though.

"Triple Tw___ P____"

Thanks for the help and comments, guys!

I've found another one. If at any point Bungie net is loading a white screen comes up that has part of the destiny map on it. I dont know if this is because my school has a crap internet connection, but when i try to load this thread on my saved threads, the white screen appears. I think it has the mountain bit of the map on it, but it disapears quite quickly.

Although there is no doubt that the "D" really looks like d, I think it could very well be O. Why? First of all, "Orin" is the only word you can get out of it that actually means something in Spanish. While drink would also fit very well, for me it just seems awkward that there would be Spanish and English mixed in the name.

I don't have very good ways of explaining why it looks so much like D. Could be an error by the artist. Accidental line drawn and left unfixed as it's clearly not the main point of the map.

Anyway, Orin just sounds so fitting as it would make the town "Rust Harbor" which in my opinion sounds like a very fitting name for an old harbor town that has already seen it's best days.

It's a metaphor for the 07s' lack of identity. too old to be newfag, yet too new to be oldfag, we wander b.net in search of a home, forever trying to be something we are not.

This obviously took a lot of time. Very interesting indeed.

In a time long past, the armies of the dark came again to the lands of men. Their leaders became known as the fallen lords, and their terrible sorcery was without equal in the west.
In 30 years they reduced the civilized nations into carrion and ash. Until the free city of Madrigal alone defined them. An army gathered there, and a desperate battle was joined against the fallen
Heros were born in the fire and bloodshed of the wars which followed and their names and deeds will never be forgotten

Interesting.

All these images and names of places points to this almost being like a MMO or VERY large map based game where you go to certain areas. Almost like ODST free roam.

Now that I've looked it up, it does look like a legitimate alternative to "Drin" or "Drink."

I guarantee everything on that map that is named is either anticent or moder Latin.

Remember those times when we all had something better to be doing, but didn't do it? Those were good times. Gooood times

I was reading the trademark description, and the term 'virtual reality game software' caught my eye. Is this normal on video games? I'm saying this because it says both computer and video game before this in the description.

As fantastic as that could be. It looks like the text is actually a custom font and not painted. Compare any of the letters to another one. An R to an R. Identical (at least in terms of shape; some of it looks erased). Compare the "D/O" to the other "O" in Puerto and you'll find it looks like a D. I think that the straight edge can't have been a mistake. Good call though. Rust Harbour sounded awesome.

Great thread. Do you have an ETA on part 3?
Not as such. I'm working in a bunch of other projects on top of this one. 3 2D (1 actually being 2.5D) platformers, 1 RTS, 1 Bungie-themed Mario Kart game, a Blitzball remake, and I'm also looking for an actual job.

This is just superduper on the side. I am working on the layers of it though. The 3D model was constructed with a heightmap (an image comprising of black-white values to determine height, with white being the highest), so I'll tweak that appropriately considering we now have a clear mountain graphic and then I'll also use that as part of my painting. It should be pretty easy to get it done, though.

Yeah, it is. Especially games that are set to be in a semi-realistic world like Halo, CoD, WoW. That's because it replicates reality. So at least we know it's not going to be an arcade game like Tetis :)

I think that the straight edge can't have been a mistake. Good call though. Rust Harbour sounded awesome.

I'm not sure, the R letters are a bit different in shape. I'm not talking about the erased parts. If you look at the right side of both R letters, you can see clear differencies in shape. For example, the lower curved line is steeper on the first R than the second. The second thing that catched my eye was the part where both curved lines meet. On the second R there is a clear "pit" between them, on the first R it looks almost like a straight line. The R is also the only letter we can compare, so we can't really have a good compatison.

But the thing I'm bit sceptical about my theory is that the mistake seems too impossible. the idea that someone would fail by drawing a straight line in a 90 degree angle seems absurd. But to be honest, I hope it's a mistake as Puerto Orin sounds very cool and fitting.

The letter being D also produces problems. If it is "Drink", where is the K? There is a clear intentional dark area around the name that ends straight after the N. I can't find a way to get K fit there. This also brings the problem of mixing two languages I mentioned. If we exclude O and K, we are left with the word "Drin". The problem with the word is it means absolutely nothing.

The whole word is very problematic. It has many options, but all have their own huge problems. In two cases it's either that the artist made a mistake or that they just decided to write a word that means absolutely nothing.

Well, space can still be a big part of the game. This could only be a part of a planet of the game universe. I definitely wouldn't fall into the belief that the game only takes place on land just because of this single map.
