I just noticed there are 4 words on the map (or they could be sets of 2 small words, cant really say) other than "Puerto Drin" Dunno if you guys already found about it, didnt check.

EDIT: yea, you guys noticed 2 of them and even managed to understand them.

Looking at Puerto Princesa, I pondered whether this location is meant to be a "Celestial Waypoint" for the heavens. Basically any constellations or stars/systems witnessed from this place may be the fictional location for project Destiny.

Unfortunately because Phillipines is so close to the equator there aren't many circumpolar constellations. However, there are some major star systems and constellation visible from this locale, depending on the time/date of the year.

If I find something interesting, assuming I'm not looking too deep into those, I'll post.

I understand nothing because my life is a conspiracy.

Mother of God. Excellent discovery!

Edit: I did a quick google search and found this. Maybe Destiny has to do with the 7 Wonders of the World . . . or the Galaxy. Get it? 7!

I came for Halo, but I heard the Tru7h, fought thru Carnage, and stayed for Bungie.

The underground river is a transdimensional portal that will take us to where no man has gone before.

It's a low res image of the original Puerto Princesa map. You're seeing "Puerto Prin" not "Puerto Drin". And the composite map is made of a bunch of different images, things getting cut off is inevitable.

There is almost definitely something to do with a river in Destiny. I think we can all agree on that.

Can we? How do you come to that assertion so confidently?

I think Puerto Princesa has the same connection to Destiny as Mombasa has to Halo. It will be featured in the game, but probably only be loosely based on the real place and have a slightly different name in Destiny.
As for Lorraine being the creator of the Destiny Map: I think Bungie was trying to think of an exotic place on Earth to implement in their game and went with the Philippines because they have an expert on it and straight away let her create a stylized map of the place for marketing purposes.

For once I was not being sarcastic. Tyson Green's quote about "spiders on the other side of the river" was pretty clear.

Rivers are very common, so I say yes.

Right, but "something to do with rivers", to me, anyway, is very different from "rivers exist in this universe".

Maybe the underground river(s) is a metaphor for the space travel mechanism in Destiny?

You know like how the ocean as rivers/streams, perhaps these underground river from the Philippines map symbolise Destiny's space travel like wormhole tunnels or something?

Just an idea.

Brilliant.

I acknowledge my user name is stupid. However, I promise I'm not.

Disclaimer: The latter is a lie.

The underground rivers will be a part of this game.

Brilliant work by Moriatus and John, by the way :)

Old school Bungie, born and raised,
In the Septagon is where I spend most of my days.
Relaxin', maxin', posting all cool,
Talking about Halo, life and some school.
Got in one little argument, and the mods got scared,
they said "You're gonna get banned and your member title'll be bare!"

Impressive discovery on the map, but I'd put my money on it being a coincidence with Lorraine and all.

One can always hope, though!

In the Gaming world they call me The Prodigy. My guess is because I spent my time helping every person with every problem rather they where my enemies or not. With that said I also ended up blowing the minds of everyone I met online. And in the real world if we are talking about Game development and computer skill. None the less I tend to present my self in a generally professional manner and I do not tolerate an annoying degree of Disrespect or high levels of ignorance.

VERY VERY IMPRESSIVE
Over the years I have blown he mind of pretty much everyone I have met on Xbox and very little surprises or impresses me. On the other hand I have been waiting for someone to post information like this involving the Destiny star map, when I looked at it my first opinion is that it is a terrain map of some sort. It seems that I was more than like correct.

Thanks for filling in the gap with this information I've been looking for.
