Palawan is very close to the Equator for whatever that's worth (space elevators).

I went to Palawan in '93. Hiked the "Monkey trail" went into the "underground river" and then took a boat up to El Nido. One of the more remote places left to visit, I highly recommend going there. Cebu too (west side). They were both awesome.

Someone should mention Puerto Princesa in the next mailsack.

I came for Halo, but I heard the Tru7h, fought thru Carnage, and stayed for Bungie.

^We tried, but DeeJ didn't acknowledge any posts about it.

In the Gaming world they call me The Prodigy. My guess is because I spent my time helping every person with every problem rather they where my enemies or not. With that said I also ended up blowing the minds of everyone I met online. And in the real world if we are talking about Game development and computer skill. None the less I tend to present my self in a generally professional manner and I do not tolerate an annoying degree of Disrespect or high levels of ignorance.

So, Based off this information is it possible that Destiny is going to take place on the surface of a planet. I was told that it would take place in space.

Also if I remember correctly, and I do believe I heard it in the "Oh Brave New World" Documentation; That Bungie wanted to go back on some old ideas. Remembering this Myth came to my Head.

based on "un-confirmed" accusations from other sources Destiny is supposed to be a MMO, And if they are working with Blizzard then we can infer the possibility of destiny's terrain to be similar to World of War craft.

See the similarity.
Myth Terrain
World of Warcraft terrain
Destiny topography highlighted
Destiny topography 3D model

Is it possible that Bungie may create Destiny similar to games like Skyrim and each of the factions are different areas, lands, cities, etc?

I already wondered what happened to destinypedia.net. So Foman isn't involved anymore or what?

In the mailsack there was no reaction to the questions regarding the map of or Puerto Princesa itself. So it can't be just some map that they used to have a cool pattern or something otherwise DeeJ would have wrote something like "this has nothing to do with what we will reveal SoonTM".

DeeJ was probably told to aviod the question, and Foman is, just he can't run/own it for a few certain reasons. So we had to restart the pedia :/

There is no way Bungie have a slogan of "See you starside" and "To the stars" etc then ship a game only on a planet surface. So I'd relax on that one.

My speculation is we'll be playing on air, sea, land, planets, space and the whole gamut of environment experiences really.

As for Bungie working with Blizzard I've never heard of that one specifically before. Bungie signed with Activision who are also Blizzard but I seriously doubt the developers are mixing and sharing between each other.

If they are then WOW meets Halo is an interesting concept. Although I reserve judgement they'd share game engine assets. I think Bungie are tooling up a new engine from the ground up mate. Bungie are also heading into next generation so it makes sense to move on a complete new engine.

After all a lot of the staff and Bungie would be let go completely if they were outsourcing the engine or taking one off the shelf. I don't think that is Bungie's style.

I agree with the your accusation on the possibility of not only being in space but also on other terrain as well.

And the engine you speak of If I remember correctly It is called the Umbrella Engine. That being said; with the use of this engine I am sure it is new to the developers and may take some time getting used to, However I am interested to see how Destiny will turn out. Also Being a game developer myself I am trying to get my hands on that engine but I haven't done much searching yet.

As I am not 100% Sure of the Umbrella engines use with Destiny I am pretty sure that they are using the Grognok Engine to build the terrain.

How much do you want to bet that Puerta Princessa, as the answer to the Map riddle, is just the first clue to the next one.

I would like to focus it into more space faring or battles and capable to travel from planet to planet, that would be neat.

We still have a mystery on our hands.

What's the significance of the circles on some of Bungie's adaptions of the map? They're clearly not present in the originals.

Since we have discovered this is indeed a map, what are these giant circles? Are they on the ground? Are they location markers? Or are they floating death-star style?

wat.

Roll with the hits, not under them.

No, you can't have it. But thanks for asking!

Spaceport terminals? I still think the equatorial location would make this a prime location for a port. Factions that control the polar caps are trying to insinuate themselves in Earth's last freerunning port? Points of strategic influence? Or just indicators of things like weapons market, mechanics/upgrades, food/hydrogen suppliers?

I do like the floating a la death star type idea though, maybe some sort of tether between Earth and a floating space platform?

So you guys were right about the map being on Earth. I think that may be where a major city is located.

Don't do anything you wouldn't want to have to explain to paramedics. Trust me, I'm a pilot.

I think the location is pretty spot on. Taking a look at the concept art found on IGN, it definitely looks as though it would take place in Puerto Rico.
