I would advise against it, unless you're willing to play Russian Roulette with a permaban.

A permaban? That seems over the top, no?

Nope.

People have been permabanned in the past for trying to solicit over Bnet. I'll bet they will continue too in the future.

The only time it is allowed is if the link provided in made in gold.

You would think that permabans for "solicitation" would be reserved for people who link scam sites. I would have thought that a lock would be all that is necessary for someone linking to a legitimate donation site.

Uh, fair enough then.

I can see how it could be deserving on people that are trying to scam people, but if they were 'legit' I'd think a perma is going overboard.

But I guess that's why you're a ninja haha.

I find that Teh-Ziod is NOT attractive for the reasons
she/he does not correct format sentences, therefore for intelligent matured members of society that may interact with her/him, may find her/him UNattractive for the reason that she/he does not comprehend with their level to successfully have a conversation therefore it will be socially an awkward interaction which may be wanted to be avoided

second i do not find it physically possible for a PERSON to be a ice cream truck.

Just a suggestion, i would send a message to urk, he supported the Pepsi refresh charity project for Heather's camp. He may also allow your friend's cancer charity project.

OP - You're a dumbass with the reading comprehension skills of a second grader.

Can someone tell me what's wrong with these two, this made me LOL hard.

Takes a real -blam!- to lock a thread like that. Don't do it while 'Cam is online and you should be fine.
Cam is a bro. Besides, if it was for something like that, I don't think it should be.

If it was something like making a contest and the prize would be M$ points, then yes. But if it's for cancer, then it should be alright.

Don't be silly people trying to help raise money for charity are clearly the scum of this site and should be met with the harshest penalties.

Okay, so basically if an employee makes the thread.

It's unfortunate that such a rule has to apply to a scenario such as this, although soliciting in general has no place here.

Long story short, I don't know if your link takes me a legit site, or if it takes me to a site that is made to look legit.

We constantly battle people linking "real enough" looking XBL, MS, or other sites here. Trying to figure out if the charity being linked it real or not is too time consuming.

You all might not realize it, but a ninja bans at least 1 account per day linking a fake site asking for personal info/financial info per day, sometime more if the scammer knows their way around the site.

Unless a link comes through the official channels asking for donations, we will assume it was made as an attempt to scam the users here. Bans will be handed out appropriately.

If the user can prove that they made a mistake in good faith, than the powers that be may over turn the ban.

Now that is fair enough, which is much different than "lolz u post da cancer support u get da ban".

My immaturity of the far-away past led me astray to the banhammer many-a-time. I have matured since then and I am sincerely trying to help my friend raise money to help a cancer foundation.

I understand the rules of the cite fully and that is why I made this thread. He is a mere $225 away from his goal and I know we can reach it. If it comes to it, maybe I will PM urk, but for now, I can hope, sit, and wait to see some gold pop up possibly in this thread.

Bobcast is dead on the money...

I think a proper solution to this would be to simply OK it with the web team/ninjas first. If it was for a proven charitable organisation, without any doubt to its validity, then I think it should be allowable.

XBL: l Sonic l
PSN: Sonic_343

I think we had one earlier this year, but the OP kept Bumping it, so Foman locked it, even after the OP was warned about bumping. All of a sudden, Foman was the bad guy.

I think the mods are trying to avoid a similar situation. A video game developer's website just isn't the right place, even if it's for a good cause.

What did I do? I don't remember locking anything like that before, so I don't know why I was singled out.

As Daz said, its technically against the rules, so I wouldn't make one. Bungie themselves might take an interest though, so I'd hold out until/if you get an official answer from them.

Passing the buck.
Sorry I misspelled bobcast. :P

No in all seriousness you were just the first mod who popped into my head.... Didn't realize I was calling you an -blam!- at the time..
