Subject: Kill/death

How much you contribute to your team isn't measured by how positive you went.

In Slayer = your wrong

Arena = KA/D Ratio matters the most

I could recieve an insane amount of assists in a team slayer game, or score the objective for my team in an objective type match. Killing isn't necessary to be a good team player.

Uh, actually killing is pretty important in a game that revolves around gunplay, but I get what you're trying to say. Those examples are a bit exaggerated though.

Very true to an extent, especially in objective games. But you need slayers in the game so your objective guy has a chance to get to the flag and run it with out getting shot.

great example mlg lol mlg lol went 9-19 while his other teammates went positive, but in that game he pulled all 5 flags and got the win for the team scoring 3 of them and bringing the other 2 to their side having his teammates cap them.

The Internet is an empowerment tool that's agnostic; it doesn't care about race, gender, or age.

Lol support players.

Yeah you need slayers, but just because they went +31 doesn't mean they contributed more than you did to the win. A win is a win.

Why is hypocrite spelled with an E at the end?
The I in crite is not pronounce as eye.

So, on the one hand I spell it out exactly as it should be.
You follow the standard set before you by fools who can't even get a handle on the rules of their own language.

If I go -19, it's 190 seconds of me not contributing.

You can't honestly say that some guy who goes even or barely positive contributed as much as the guy who went +13, even if the former did a slightly better job of calling out or scored more flags or whatever.

But K/D does show how many players on the other team you killed, and in this compared to your death shows how usefull you were in the game. Even in objective, if you have someone that goes -20, they probably arent doing that well going for the objective either. But if you have a player that goes +20, thats keeping the other team from scoring because their sitting at their respawn screen.

Eh, that's where it gets tricky. How do you know the person going -20 didn't time the power weapons, didn't bait the other team when he needed to, didn't get the most hill time, didn't get a touch on the flag to keep it alive long enough for his teammates to cap it? I've seen people who literally would do anything to preserve their k/ds (aka, hiding behind a corner while their teammates are getting shot from every angle) and I hate having those kinds of players on my team. I simply can't stand them.

Meh, you were having an off game and those players outclassed you. Doesn't mean you didn't help us get as much hill time as we did.

Because I was too busy getting shitted on by the other team's teamshot.

It was sooooooo annoying. Every time I think I killed them with a perfect five, they just tanked two and then two show up to buttrape me.

They both contributed to the win, therefore, they are both valuable assets to the team. I don't even care if all he did was cause a distraction by being in the other team's base.

  • 12.05.2011 8:47 PM PDT

Agreed, but with a few obvious exceptions, being a RUFFGONJA in objective (and slayer for that matter) is completely useless.

I laugh at people who think just because they went the most positive on the team they contributed the most. It is amazingly easy to go positive just by baiting teammates and never pushing. Cleaning up your teammates kills and playing like a bitch does not make you good.

Wrong. Going +30 means nothing when all you did was sit back at your base and get kills. Now I'm not trying to say that going +30 doesn't help the team in any way, I'm just saying that he's playing an equal part in contributing to the win. There's more to being good at Halo than by merely being the main slayer 100% of the time.

This guy gets it. I hate when we lose and somebody on our team goes +1 and becomes an arrogant dickbag about it, blaming us for the loss. It was a collective effort. If your team lost, it's all on you guys, not on your teammate(s).

In terms of Halo, Ogre 2 is a highly valuable player not because he's an amazing slayer, but because he is an amazing communicator, strategist, distraction, basically a jack of all trades. He doesn't pull of the double digit positives, but his teammates can consistently say that any of their wins was because of him.
