Subject: Reach might actually be REAL

Name's John. I'm a 21-year-old firefighter/EMT from lolhio who doubles as a die-hard Halo fan. I've been enjoying the franchise since 2001. My favorite iteration of Halo would have to be Halo 2 simply because I never got to experience the joy of a full-on Halo: CE LAN.

If you have any other questions, feel free to ask.

Oh yeah, and boot Zome.

What's this "too big to support life" stuff? I don't know anything about astrology, but since when does size dictate life support capabilities?
The gravity would crush us all. If say we were on Jupiter, we would instantly be crushed to death.
Wouldn't organisms that evolved under this higher gravity have stronger bones or whatever so that they could resist it?

Yeah, I was thinking they could be conditioned through evolution to tolerate the gravity.

I think "Too big for life support" means that probably we are seeing a gas giant instead of a planet with an habitable rocky surface.

Do y'all realize the Bungie based Reach off of an actual planet in our Galaxy? Not this one but a complete different one.

  • 12.06.2011 6:09 PM PDT

just like to say that it is an all water planet and would take over 1.5 million years to travel to the new planet.

We can make that travel faster with a slipspace device. Quick! Rob a Shaw-Fujikawa Translight Engine from 343i´s HQ.

If I could change a few things in Reach, it would be....

*Get rid of yoinking and medal ( yoinking is retarded )
*Force Bungie to work again and get rid of 343's existence
* A few other things

If it gets named Reach I will laugh.

Well, Kepler 22-B just isn't going to do.

Yeah.

You know the entire halo community should try to get it to be named Reach.

Lets get a petition up.

Ok. Can you make it? I'm a bit busy right now.

Life is a journey, if you spend all of it with your nose in your map, you may miss some of the best parts.

Because every planet that can harvest life is obviously a Reach copy, right?

Scientists have also managed to link two diamonds with quantum entanglement. Could slipspace travel, or something like it, be not that far off?

I saw that on NOVA!

  • 12.06.2011 6:43 PM PDT

I'm serious, someone get that petition up!

NASA should name planets after sci-fi planets. Like reach, Harvest, etc.

Except Harvest is a ridiculous name for a planet.

Reach isn't much better.

  • 12.07.2011 6:07 AM PDT

So..very...cOLD.*shivers*
Hopefully, if this planet is similar to Earth, then we won't be pushed to near extinction by a genocidal alien alliance, too.

That's most likely what our government would do to them.

  • 12.07.2011 9:07 AM PDT

And it shall be named Harvest.

Halo 3: ReV Eskimo

eventually ill be back on Reach and CEA. i enjoy gaming for fun, im a great player and i enjoy smoking while i play. so any chill players feel free to add me. I in NO way support halocharts; old username.

there's over 2000 potential habitable planets.....this is not really new news. we are just getting a glimpse of our own galaxy and the universe, if that. also, most of which are well over 100 light years away, so even if we did figure out how to safely travel(or travel at all) at lightspeed, it would take more than a lifetime anyways.

I'm not really an Apple person (Bananas forever) but damn, that's kinda sad.

The IAU doesn't give extrasolar planets formal names :/

But still awesome!

That would be like just discovering fire and then saying, "We'll be flying airplanes in no time."

Urg the caveman next door told me it would happen. He always dreamed of flying. Though never seen him again after he said he was heading to the cliffs....

  • 12.07.2011 11:01 AM PDT

I hope they don't call it Reach.
