Subject: Your Dream Group updates...

In a time long past, the armies of the dark came again to the lands of men. Their leaders became known as the fallen lords, and their terrible sorcery was without equal in the west.
In 30 years they reduced the civilized nations into carrion and ash. Until the free city of Madrigal alone defined them. An army gathered there, and a desperate battle was joined against the fallen
Heros were born in the fire and bloodshed of the wars which followed and their names and deeds will never be forgotten

What are sopme things of that you dream groups had in the future update(s)?

- Ability to Cancel a group jon request and have new group requests only be allowed to sit in the queue for 24-48 hours, if Admin does nothing, they are rejected and user has to join again.

- Admin has full power to manipulate group titles based on Post count (sets number) and trust skill.

- Ability to send Warnings/Ban messages in groups.

What are other things you want?

Hard is good.

- Be able to cancel requests

- A "sign up for group news" button, so they receive a message in their inbox if someone with permissions sent one.

This, only more than 48 hours. Sometimes admins can't be on every other day. Two weeks should do the trick.

Would be great, along with a total group post count.

-Message all button
-Group search bar
-IP tracker

What would make you think I was joking? Other forum sites give IP tracking abilities to admins. I just choose to run a forum on this site instead of say, Zetaboards.

I get tired of having to deal with alts.

Bricypoo's custom user title = Ultra Lame Thread Maker

Posted by: True Underdog
Only after we ban Bricypoo.

What he means is do people really want someone to have the ability to see the general location of where someone lives on a group inside of a Video game developers forums.

Also. I'm kind of getting tired of all these "idea threads" we need to just stick to 1 or 2 otherwise it is just virtually lots of the same threads. I'd rather have a few threads a day all being at least to a extent "new" rather than over done threads.

(This in no shape or form is trying to make people "look bad". I'm just stating my opinions)

IP tracking is as reliable as well, a blind man riding a bike.

It's so simple to get a new IP, I doubt it would change anything. I understand why you'd want something like it, but I'd think it would be somewhat useless. (Hell, I'm getting a new IP every time I plug in my wireless internet modem to my computer)

Oh, and ^^that too.

That's for the member to decide. If they have a problem with the admin seeing their general location, then they shouldn't join. As I've already said, other forum sites give the admin the ability to see IPs, and people join their forums.

Irrelevant point. People would be able to bypass it, yes, but it would greatly reduce my problems, and give them an extra one if they wanted to use an alt.

I think it should track how many pixels your screen has and what your OS is.

Not that irrelevant.

If someone is wasting their time with an alt, I don't think it's beyond them to flick their modem on and off.

Yax is a shining beacon in these dark times. You should all strive to be more like Yax.

The ability to restrict the amount of posts/threads that can be made per day for each security group.

For example, new members wouldn't be able to make threads and could only post five times each 24-hour block.

  • 12.06.2011 8:17 AM PDT

For serious, mailing lists would be great.

Custom themes.

Well there is a script that manages to simulate that pretty well, but who uses those anyway?

  • 12.06.2011 8:20 AM PDT

Also. Better stat tracking.

Yes. But not just on/off, we should be able to choose which words get censored and in to what.

For example, "apple" could filter to "nuts".

Agreed.
I wan tan Admin tool where I can send newsletters/notifications to selected or all users on the group.

The system will be sent so that no one sees anyone's emailed through Bungie.net.

Positive vibes.

I would actually like the idea of an automated title system based off activity, post quality, etc.

How do you determine post quality?
