I hope that this is a well-disguised joke. I've seen some of those "stereotypes" exhibited in Mythics more often than regular Members.

EDIT: WAT. Did you just explicitly state that bans are relevant to a user's post value? I like to think that I am rather helpful, and that I tend to participate actively in discussion, and I've been banned 15 times. I don't think bans matter, necessarily.

Not necessarily, I stated that to reach the criteria of a higher title you needed to avoid bans if possible, which usually means that you don't spam and actually contribute to a discussion.

Like I said in my OP There are exceptions to the rule

You would possibly be one of them.

You have to be doing something wrong to get banned 15 times.

Meh. I don't know. Perhaps. I'm not sure if I agree, but I haven't really been here long enough to study thoroughly the post quality of members in relation to their post quality.

pfffft.

Quality post right here ladies and germs. To be honest, my title has nothing to do with how or what I post. I always try to be informative and nice as well as critical in some cases. That's how everyone should post. Of course there are outliers in every case, members who have been banned a lot so they can't get a higher title would be an example of this as well as a few examples from the "other side of the table".

At least you can see slightly where I'm coming from.

I think the main point here, which I obviously haven't made very clear in the OP, is that I was simply making an Observation. I didn't state that my opinion was fact. Which most people seem to be missing.

  • 12.07.2011 9:39 AM PDT

I spend too much time here.. too much time indeed.

I tweet?

While I don't notice the quality of one's post changing in relation with their title, it does seem that their attitude changes with their title. Members with higher tier titles seem to be more relaxed in how they post. They appear more likely to spin a joke, use a meme (appropriately, if that's possible), or state their opinion more bluntly or matter-of-factually that it may appear arrogant.

This could appear as a degradation of post quality I suppose and only a general view based on what I've noticed, but this whole thread is opinion based anyway.

Remember Elk

I guess that kinda works, I got my first ban after I got promoted from noble to intrepid.

The reason? spam, and intrepid comes from posting much...
I liked the colour of my legendary...

Can someone tell me what's wrong with these two, this made me LOL hard.

My shoes really smell. I think I might stop at the store after work and pick up some odor eaters or something.

Oh, get those little ball things. They're like these little balls with some kind of stuff in them that makes the smell go away, I use them for my boots.

They work.

I used to be contributing member of the community, but someone stole my sweetroll.

Anyway, bans don't really pertain to titles. After years of membership, you'll get your title back directly after a ban wears off. The only titles that say anything relavent to someone's likeliness to be helpful is the prefixes (Exalted, Honorable, etc). Even then, however, they aren't very accurate.

Case and point: don't worry about it. Girls start getting boobies pretty soon, and then you'll have plenty of other things to think about. Being an Inheritor is not a life goal.

I disagree, I think that most if not all Mythic members still browse poopjokes.com and laugh their butts off. Legendary members probably give the best advice.

Most Mythics... not all. I've been called out for going against the norm in the mythic group on more than 1 occasion.

So with this in mind, we can roughly translate that members go in this order when referring to amount of cool points?

Starting with most and decreasing:-

Elder> Exalted> Noble> Honourable>Mythic/Legendary(Debatable)>
>Heroic >Normal Member+Prefix >Members >Ninja's >Master Forum Ninja's >Achronos ?

In a time long past, the armies of the dark came again to the lands of men. Their leaders became known as the fallen lords, and their terrible sorcery was without equal in the west.
In 30 years they reduced the civilized nations into carrion and ash. Until the free city of Madrigal alone defined them. An army gathered there, and a desperate battle was joined against the fallen
Heros were born in the fire and bloodshed of the wars which followed and their names and deeds will never be forgotten

No, I would say titles =/= post quality. This seeing some of the "interesting" threads I have seen posted lately and the responses for high level posters and former mods.

I see where you're coming from Op, but what about the unfortunate people like me who seem to be legend one day then heroic the next, the system is very jumpy.
And lets not forget alts.
I guess it must be human nature to label and group things together, but we must not forget individualism.

I play for fun and armory completion. :)

Titles simply show how long a user has been here, how active someone is, and how many times they have broken the rules. I the only correlation between a user's title and their posts is that to have a title, the user has been a member of the site for a while, so they will on average be an older person in general, and hopefully more mature.
