I think Exalted Legendarys tend to have the best things to say. Mythics get lazy because there's nowhere to go after you reach the top.

Thank you Acres, and I agree with you. When I was a Mythic I just didn't care anymore and I got really lazy with my posts.

On December 1st, 2012, I met Neil deGrasse Tyson. I shook the man's hand, and even made him laugh. Not much else to do with my life now.

Some Mythics = Very arrogant

That is all.

Mythic members also tend to be the most obnoxious.

The title system rewards a long term presence on the site and lack of bans-of course titles are going to somewhat coincide with quality of posting.

Yep, that's Bungie.nets first law. The second law is to ignore the first one.

Citizens of Me! The cruelty of the old Pharaoh is a thing of the past. Let a whole new wave of cruelty wash over this lazy land.

Hear the word of Pharaoh. Build unto me a statue of ridiculous proportion. One billion cubits in height......that I might be remembered for all eternity!

And be quick about it!

That is not the case, I make good posts honorable sir.

pfffft.
Now you have just made my whole thread look silly, shame on you.

I refuted your point by demonstration.

Title is a sign that the account has met the criteria for that title. Nothing more, nothing less. If someone wants to try to leverage it into a measure of personality, intelligence, civility, or any other trait, they may be somewhat successful, but not enough to be really useful or relevant.

While I see your point, ODST above me took the reply straight out of my mouth.

Generally to reach the pre-determined criteria, you need to incur little to no bans which would prove that your posts are relevant and informative in any thread you post in (hence why most higher members are usually more polite and contribute more to the discussion).

You will notice how I didn't include Ninja's in my OP, because you guys are so far off the scale we have no idea what you're going to post when you do.

This is all my opinion though, so obviously I don't expect everyone or even anyone to agree with it.

Just felt like talking about something different for a change, because these forums are a little dull. :/

I would have a high rank if I hadn't been banned for replying to spam. Come on, everybody on B.net has replied to something that could, though rather subjectively, be called spam. Really, I don't think it should be a bannable offense. Most of the time nobody gets banned for it so it is unfair to the rare instances when the mod decides to carpet ban everybody for no reason.

Plus, if no body replied to the thread, then the OP would not get what he deserved for posting his meatspin and would go unpunished, as the thread would die before mods saw it.

Personally, I have never put all of my stock into titles or post-counts or reputations or karma. That goes for any online forum. Every opportunity that you take to share your thoughts and opinions with total strangers or old friends is crucial. Your last post says as much about you as your first post.

Certainly, the ability to maintain a posture as a citizen in good standing over time is impressive, but I don't expect fresh members to be of lesser quality overall.

There could be someone who registered for Bungie.net just today who will infuse our conversation with new awesomeness. Being new does not ensure that you will be an idiot. New people are the lifeblood of any great community.

The beta is super awesome. RogueAssassin27 is now the person who got my Totodile's nickname. Hoo-hah! Relevant.inb4lock

Nope, it doesn't work like that. Title only shows how long you've been around, nothing more.

Being an employee of Bungie would somewhat sway your view on things though would it not?

I mean, even if you felt that you agreed, you couldn't say it. Because if an employee was to be seen saying that all new members are idiots then it would be quite bad for business, as it were.

Although I think that this thread has shown that maybe I was a little too quick to judge and that with hindsight, trying to generalise members based on their titles is probably not the best way I could have supported any discussion I was trying to make.

For the most part, as the kids would say, "My bad".
