If I am not posting, then I am reading what you might have posted.

Does it motivate me - No.
But if it is competitive to make it to a certain title rank-Yes.

I am currently motivated to win a match to make it to heroic, and other then that, no. But I don't mind having a higher title.

I am self motivated to be active member of Bungie.net. <3

Oh yeah, since somebody does not believe what YOU believe; that makes us vapid...
I cannot grasp that what you call "Something happened to nothing, and that nothing became something, and it was smaller than than a period."

No, but I was excited when it upgraded.

It doesn't affect me at all.

I post when I see fit.

Don't lie son, you live for the titles.

I play for fun and armory completion. :)

It motivates me to post on the mains more than I otherwise would, not private groups though.

You may be special but that doesn't mean you're useful

I guess you could say that since becoming Noble heroic a few weeks ago my post count has increased, but that was purely just by coincidence.

I came back to these forums after a long absence and after a few days my title increased, it kind of encouraged my to stay and hang my hat for a while.

For me it was like having 100% completion in a game, in that, when I reached it, I stopped caring about it, and then I wondered what the fuss was actually about to begin with.

Dead Mans Hand-Always Loaded.

I WAS SOCK

It used to... now I just post anyways though.

Initially it definitely did though.

I see it as more of a challenge worth striving for. If I get mythic status I get it if I don't I don't. I come here to distract myself more from my negative thoughts.

Not really, the blue bar is cool and everything, but I mostly just post because I want to post, isn't that the reason we're all here?

Yax is a shining beacon in these dark times. You should all strive to be more like Yax.

It doesn't motivate me to post at all but it does make me hesitate to post on occasion.

If you're talking about posting in threads that could get you banned, then I know what you mean. I had a 3-day ban for posting in a Recon thread, saying that there should be no more Recon threads...

  • 12.08.2011 7:32 AM PDT

I spend less time on here, mainly because if I spend too long I'm bound to be banned again by Foman for a non-infraction and lose it all over again.

The distance between insanity and genius is measured only by success.

The problem with the world is that the intelligent people are full of doubts, while the stupid ones are full of confidence.

As you waste your breath complaining about life, Someone out there is breathing their last. Appreciate what you have.

If you stand for nothing, you will fall for anything.

I don't feel i have to be more active, i am quite active anyway so it's never concerned me. The only way i have ever lost titles is through bans, never for being inactive.

In a time long past, the armies of the dark came again to the lands of men. Their leaders became known as the fallen lords, and their terrible sorcery was without equal in the west.
In 30 years they reduced the civilized nations into carrion and ash. Until the free city of Madrigal alone defined them. An army gathered there, and a desperate battle was joined against the fallen
Heros were born in the fire and bloodshed of the wars which followed and their names and deeds will never be forgotten

Whats with all the title bar threads lately?

Title bars are fun little side things and do not (and should not) be uised to indicate a certain users abilites, etc.

The problem on this site is that the title system has become all about Eliteism, that is why we have groups like the Mythic Group and other groups based on titles.

I think they are vfun but sometimes people take them WAY toos eriosuly.

Also we have a thread about forum titles in the pinned topics (although this isn;t nessesarily about earning titles). IDk I have had the mods yell at me for stuff like this before.

I'm sorry, I can't hear you down there on the ladder. But really, lighten up. While I won't deny there is some elitism, most of it displayed on the forums aren't meant to be taken seriously.

Most users admit that the titles have no value and are "just hats" and are just having fun with those who believe the titles are something to be taken seriously.

Bricypoo's custom user title = Ultra Lame Thread Maker

Posted by: True Underdog
Only after we ban Bricypoo.

Elitism extremely over exaggerated for these forums. Most people don't judge by titles, they judge by join dates and how the people act. But in reality most people don't judge by titles or join dates.

yeah and I can understand, it is always cool getting something like a title, like you are "leveling up".

Sometmes people take it WAY too seriously.

Bu, I always think it is cool when I get a new title and the combinations are funny sometimes.

Motivate you to be more active on the forums or do you pay no attention to such trivial matters?

I have to admit, it motivates me to be more active. Not that it's a chore. It just provides that little encouragement not to be a wallflower.

I'll admit that I do get a little perturbed that mine keeps vacillating from blue to grey every week, but to be perfectly blunt - There is NOTHING to comment on in the mains to keep 'active'. I stick to a primary and one secondary private group, and try to participate in the Community and Halo 3. Halo 3's been dead, and the Community is pointless thread upon pointless rehashed tread the past several months.
It's kind of hard to remain 'active' when there is nothing to comment on that necessitates a well thought out comment.
