I can host as many as needed so just let me know. I think we should be able to hear all of the submissions.

With B.B. gone, the passion of Bungie.net has lessened.

Using the actual Halo chords is not allowed, you can get pretty close though.

Well listen to this middle-eatern sounding Halo song:
www.andrewmatlock.com/music/Andrew%20Matlock%20-%20Weapons%20 Locker.mp3

It uses the exact notes from A Walk in the Woods (save one or two notes), but is a completely different song unto its own which uses the original as a compliment.
Let me know the final verdict!

That actually sounds really good. Kudos to you.

What's the length and render?

Both length and render do not matter. Totally up to you, really. But still, convert the file into a MP3 format.

I'd like all of the finalists to be posted, if possible. I bet that we would all want everyone to hear our music.
By the way, out of curiosity, who's judging this?

Dont worry, Lets shoot em up. You will get to listen to the winning piece. After the contest's over, i'll link the soundtrack onto this thread so people can listen.

SAY...is it possible for you to make a new thread for the winning pieces- that way, more people would see the thread (being on the first page of Bungie.net). It seems like if you attach it to this thread, only a few people will bother to go back to this thread (it wont be on the 1st page by the time June 5th comes around).

If more people listen, then more people will participate in the next competition, making it HUGE!!! :-)

I typed that thread really fast. My intentions are to make a whole new thread for the announcement of the winner and then link some of the other music on there. It's going to be somewhat like the one I made for the Bungie Art Contest.

Does Pimps at Sea count as a Bungie game? I'd love to submit a swanky sea shanty.

You can just type it in the email. Then:

Attach the .mp3 file with your song to the e-mail

and or

Host your file somewhere and provide us with a link in the -email.

aw, man, that's just great,
cause of the strict rules, i wasn'y able to summit...
i was trying for the Halo 3 trailer song, since it's the shortest of the rest from the Halo and Halo 2 soundtracks...
so uh, I have no studios to record the file into mp3 or any format..but I have the score with me...dunno hows that gonna help..
but since now I can't apply, I'll give you guys some hints of what is in the Halo 3 teaser song...
uh, this time, with an intro with a piano..then the drums comes in...then some wind or brass instruments comes in...
the piece is in the key of A Major, which means that there would be a C sharp and and F sharp for both cleffs.
basically this time, the piece sounds deeper with the tones and notes of the brass..replacing the viola.
there are the choirs..but you have to listen really, i meant really really closely to hear the voice with all those ships flying in at the same time making the sound of the timpani...so that was also truble.
it's in the time of 4/4 with each beat or note =128, strong with a steady beat.
i got stuck at the part where the cut off of the Halo song from that THE LAST SPARTAN song from Halo 2 soundtrack, it's really that ending part of the song...but not in the C Major but really in the A Major this time..let's just say that it's faster..with the same drum beats of Halo's main theme..
it's really easy if you could hear out the notes..using a piano is the best way, well for me it is...
heres something, IT's just that cutoff from the song TRUTH AND RECONCILIZATION from the Halo 1 soundtrack and a cutoff from THE LAST SPARTAN fron the Halo 2 soundtrack...all put together into A Major key...
I just wish I could share this with others, I should be the first, and I'm looking foreward for more ideas from Marty! keep it up! I know the secrets..well not all
go visit that Rampancy.com or .org...not really sure, I use to go there for some updates from those songs...

Does anybody know where I could get Halo sheet music?
Also, Noteworthy composer is a way to get sheet music to midi, which can then be converted to mp3.

Make sure you guys are only using small bits from the original music. Anything big from the original piece will be discarded.

Sure. I don't think we want to have to send verification reply e-mails for everyone, but if you are concerned just ask and i'll send you a reply once we receive your original e-mail.

Nope, I can't find your submission. What did you put down as your name and did you type in your Bungie.net username?

did it sound good?

If I had the opportunity to listen to your submission, it'd be unfair for me to criticise your piece. So, in other words, we're not allowed to openly discuss who's piece we like the most.
