Mmmm. It's not so bad, I'm leaving tomorrow and would probably be out of contact for the winner announcement anyway. It'll be humorous if the email ever goes through. :)
You can still listen to my piece here:

And the description is thus:
"The Poor Giant Dragonfly"
I wanted to try to imitate Marty's flowing string style from his mellow songs, because it's something I'm not very good at. Thus, "Dragonfly" draws inspiration from pieces such as "Remembrance," "Opening Suite," and "Heavy Price Paid" for instrumentation and a few techniques. Marty sometimes has low notes do stuff after the high notes have finished their theme, and you'll hear that a few times in "Dragonfly." Also, Marty sometimes has a select few notes (note?) of the chord hold through to the beginning of the next phrase. "Dragonfly" does this also. Beyond that, the piece developed in my style.
The name comes from the giant four-winged creatures flying around in Delta Halo and Regret. It's the "poor" dragonfly because if you bother to notice them, you probably also bother to shoot them. However, this piece takes place before you turn them into blood particles and loose polygons. Image them flying blissfully, taking joy in the air, sad when alone, but happy to be with friends. And if you want to imagine them flying exactly with the music, give them all iPods so they know when to fly up happily and when to chill down in lazy circles.
Unfortunately, all the parts in Halo where you first see the giant dragonflies are pretty hectic so this piece couldn't actually play then. In keeping with the flying thing, the best place for this piece is the banshee fight in Two Betrayals where the smooth string part from "Opening Suite" plays.
