I keep seeing this message when I'm searching and it got me wondering, how much does it affect your Arena ranking if you lag out of games/get hit offline/etc etc...

Could anyone use a scenario if possible to put this into perspective?

Your presence here is quite unneeded. Begone you!!!

Never play Arena but I can imagine quite a bit

  • 12.08.2011 9:03 AM PDT

Yeah it's worse than a loss, unfortunately if you lag out or get booted it counts as a quit as well.

That's -blam!- stupid considering how many games this season alone I've DNF'd from being kicked out of the game.

I'm pretty sure it just counts as a loss if your team loses or a win if they win.

Oh, why is it that when you search it says it impacts your division severely then? o.o

Because lolArena rankings matter. Too few people play it to really care about how well you are ranked. You'd just be the best out of like 300 people. Whoo hoo.

Idk then, I quit like 20 games in S8 and still placed 4% onyx.

I was using it to show that your fears/concerns outlined in this post:

Obviously I'd like to achieve an above-average ranking regardless of the Arena's population, I was just asking for information on how much 'harder' it will be to obtain if I'm being kicked out of 1 in 4 games.

None, Arena is based on Win/Loss.

Those messages are from way back when Divisions were based on rating.

Because that's how it worked when TrueSkill in Arena was based on ratings. What he said is right - that's also how it worked in Halo 3.

this because if you quit before the game starts it gives you a rating of 0. that would have hurt your rating. now it doesn't matter. plus that message is more of a thing to try to prevent people from quitting

Quitting highers your percentage in your division. I would know since I raged quit from Arena a lot.

I'd be more inclined to believe what people have told me so far. :P Perhaps your percentage was made worse from the fact that those matches you quit, your team ended up losing?

It says in the messages 'qutting from arena games severely affects your division placement' or something like that. Why would they keep that in if it wasn't the case. A quit is a loss This is not Halo 3 where you can quit and still rank up.

lolwut, you automatically lost and lost exp if you quit in Halo 3.

Quitting counts as whatever your team finishes I believe. In the old seasons, you rating for the game would be low if you quit, which is why it impacted your division "severely".

Then why do they keep the message till now? Are they too lazy to remove it. And in Halo 3 if you quit and your team won you go up. My swat rank went up really fast because I would quit at the last second before my team won.
