Fortune favors the Bold

First of all, who was in the crashed ship? Secondly, it showed him rebuilding it, it makes it seems like that is some importance. Thirdly, why did the librarian want to keep the flood samples?

1.The ship is of an unknown origin with a species that appear's to have accelerated faster than other species after the Halos were fired.

2.He wasn't re-building it, he was building a sarchophagus around it as any inhabitants inside did not leave their ship and died.

3.This will be explained in a later terminal. But I'll give you a hint anyway. Cures are helpful when you have some source material to work with.

What my friend above said is 99% correct. The only other things I have to add is that The Flood were originally put on the Halo's due to Faber wanting it to be done, not the Librarian. She just went along with it so she could put extra species and samples from the Galaxy on the Ark and the Halos as well.

My guess at who was flying the ship:

1. Ancient Humans
2. Precursor
3. One of the ships the Flood came to this galaxy on.

1. Can't be, as 343 was unable to translate the distress signal, which meant it couldn't have been Ancient Humanity, as the Forerunners would have known that language.

2. Second verse, same as the first.

3. Yeah if it was I'm pretty damn sure the Flood would have stormed out of that ship and taken Installation 04. I'm pretty sure there are at least 2 species that have yet to be revealed.

If the ship was an ancient human ship that had been out of the galaxy since the Forerunner-Human war then that's alot of time for the language of the inhabitants to evolve and become unrecognisable compared to what it original was. Look at how different English is now from what it was only a couple hundred years ago. Now imagine that over thousands of years.

As for the Flood, the original ships had only spores in containers and were remotely piloted. Without outside interference the Flood couldn't have "stormed out".

That being said, it could just as easily be another undiscovered space fairing race.

Good points. I think you are right,
he wasn't re-building it.
