Subject: What type of threads are most successful?

Basically, I make the best topics ever.

Feedback!
Duardo: This thread is locked for being stupid.
cortana 5 : It's perpetually my time of the month and I'm just grouchy.
Foman: I see absolutely no reason, either theoretical or practical, that this is not a superb idea. Excellent work, my friend.

Threads that either make people laugh (if they get the joke), or make people want to tell you how stupid you are (if they don't). That's the key to the satire topics. They have to be interesting enough to catch your eye, outrageous enough to be controversial, and open enough to inspire discussion.

Why are you reading my signature? Who actually opens these things and reads them!

And as always, SEND ME A PM. Please. Or really bad things will happen to you.

Any thread that strikes a nerve will be successful.

Doesn't stop people from making them.

Awesome.

In all seriousness, the threads that pose a dilemma, controversy, opinion in a succinct manner. To me, those lend themseleves most to fruitful discussions.

Yep, it is the golden formula. It also has to do with wording.

All you need to do is post a question that has been asked 25,000 times before, then say "Thank you and have a nice day."

I play for fun and armory completion. :)

Post something controversial or funny.

Pro tip: Make it as short as possible so people don't tl;dr it.

Halo 3: ReV Eskimo

eventually ill be back on Reach and CEA. i enjoy gaming for fun, im a great player and i enjoy smoking while i play. so any chill players feel free to add me. I in NO way support halocharts; old username.

threads that "push" others, such as threads about themselves, ones with hate towards something or demands from bungie. forums are full of kids who want to be right about something, pick on others and do whatever else they do,ha. the rest of us stick around for some reason......

  • 12.08.2011 8:52 PM PDT

You may be special but that doesn't mean you're useful

I would say that controversial threads get the most attention, and as long as they aren't breaking the rules, these threads can last for days.

The title speaks for itself. We all know some threads will get hundreds of replies while others will get one or two. Thus the question must be posed: What type of threads have you observed to be most popular and successful?
I have a problem with the assumption that "getting a lot of replies" is the same thing as "successful". If someone asks a question in the OP and gets their answer in the first reply, I'd call that successful.

For Carnage Apply Within

They think that they have pacified Ireland. They think that they have purchased half of us and intimidated the other half. They think that they have foreseen everything, think that they have provided against everything; but the fools, the fools, the fools! — they have left us our Fenian dead, and while Ireland holds these graves, Ireland unfree shall never be at peace

XD

Often the threads which have lots of detail and can house intelligent discussion do well. On top of that it helps if a thread is a guide of some form as then it can be referred to later for those wanting to use it.

Perhaps I just should have said "popular" and omitted "successful."

Everyone is entitled to their own wrong opinion.

I'm part of the Bungie.net Minecraft group/server called SeptaCrafters
We're a Bungie.net group that goes to our very own Bungie server. Most players are from the Halo community either off Bungie itself or through word to Halo friends.
