Alright. I have been hearing so much of this dreaded bloom, and I yet have no idea what the -blam!- it is. I heard it's something to do with an expanding reticle...

Yes, I know, I am a fool for not knowing what it is - don't go complaining.

I can give you an answer based on my analysis on this matter.

Well, in the first place, that expanding reticule thing? It's known as Reticule Bloom, which gives visual representation of Bloom. Bloom, however, is when you can control the accuracy of a shot based on how fast (or slow) you fire your weapon. This first appeared in Halo Reach, with some theories about it appearing in the Combat Evolved magnum. In Halo games in between Reach and possibly CE, it was full-on Bullet Spread, where accuracy cannot be controlled.

So it's kinda overpowering? Like, you can control your shot accuracy? Isn't that more realistic if you fire a pistol slower, you can make more accurate shots?

Quite. I find it ludicrous that people hate Bloom, but I stopped trying to argue for it to remain. People firmly believe that realism doesn't have a place in Halo. They have yet to realize that more realism would add to their beloved skill gap.

But from here on goes subjectivity, and I try to stay away from that.
