If you want to put bloom into a game, make it a 4 shot kill.

4 shots within 2 seconds = NO BLOOM. Better players win

5 shots within 2 seconds = 4th shot blooms, triggers bloom by an 1/8 the side until cool down or a kill is recorded.

For every .5 second not firing allow for a single shot with ZERO bloom back 0, also if a KILL is recorded reset shot counter to 0.

I would like to see something like this but the coding is would freaking crazy!

Good players would clearly DOMINATE bad players.

Good players already were dominating bad players, however.

Nope, I cannot agree with this. It was still to unbalanced. I'm no badass but I'm known in my area, and so are other players. Some I will agree hands down -blam!- on me in Halo 3 seeming they played in PRO and SEMI pro rooms all the time.

Halo 3 he'd win 75% of the 1 vs 1 battles, now it's down to about 50/50. Him dominating hold true on all previous Halo games as well. Yet I don't play Reach much yet he does all the time and we still go about 50/50.

Well, it's not like Halo Reach was meant to be played 1v1 in the first place.

I was talking a team situation. The better team wins.

Only regret is I didn't play more of it.

If you haven't noticed by now, I'm sort of a jerk.

Because randomness should never be programmed into anything. Playing with bloom is like rolling dice, it's totally random and has no skill with it. Let's say it's like this. You and an enemy are in a DMR face-off, and are both one shot, with exactly the same health and shields taken off. Both of your reticules are lined up to the exact spot on the opposing player, with both reticules expanded to full bloom. The only deciding factor to who lands the shot is based on a random number, 1-10, generated internally by the game. If you land an odd number, you hit the shot. If even, you miss. Does that take skill?

I think they added bloom so people don't keep spamming the trigger over and over. I doubt they were thinking about it being realistic.

They just "spammed" it even more.
Good job bloom.

The concept behind you was to limit spammers bu instead, made it worse!

$50,000,000,000 REWARD!!!

Santa Claus must be stopped! He is a menace who is not only guilty of billions of counts of breaking in entering, but also runs an illegal sweatshop of midgets forced to work for no pay using stolen materials to make gifts that infringe on every company and manufacturer around the globe, causing world wide economic disasters. He is to be taken dead or alive!

I like my weapons to be interactive and behave differently based on the way I am firing it. BRs were fcking boring. You fired at the same rate regardless of range. A lot more thought goes into firing a DMR. It's just a more satisfying headshot.

I hate Bloom because it makes the pistol essentially useless (in campaign), which already suffers from a small clip size and lack of ammo reserves. It keeps the pistol in check, forcing into a sidearm role (as intended, yes, but a pistol with a rof like this is pretty good and shouldn't be squandered). It deserves more than that.

As for DMR, it just needs reduced bloom.

I find it more realistic. Bullet spread would happen at a higher rate of fire.

The year is 2555 not 2010. The DMR has bullet spread like a gun in the civil war. With the advanced technology they have in 2555 you would think a gun they are using would shoot straight every time and not be so random, right?

no ones arm can stay dead straight after a gun shot, its not the gun thats in accurate its the user.

also I think bloom should increase that way spammers are punished and then assult rifle actually has a use compared to dmr, CQ

The 343 forums suck. They're full of retarded kids and mods who got butthurt in the B.net forums for being told that they're bad.

So is wanking.....

Fhtagn

Actually, I like bloom. At least like it is right now in team slayer. I have no idea if it's been changed or anything, but in the last few games I made, it was clear that people with a good DMR skill dominated other people even with power weapons. The random spreading is still sort of useless but not entirely, just enough to make it harder to kill. I like it.

Wait wait wait. Walking is a skill. So is proper wanking. But those other actions are not; they are natural, instinctual bodily processes. You have to LEARN how to walk; you don't have to learn how to poop.

However, rolling a die is not a skill. The physical act of throwing them might be, but the outcome is not dependent on that action. So the skill of throwing does not carry over to being good at rolling dice

Well, that's true, I suppose.

EDIT: Just be careful where you say "rolling dice is not a skill". There are places where rolling dice is Serious Business.

Because the notion of taking a -blam!- being skillfull is just as retarded as rolling a dice being skullfull.

Shirley, you can't be serious?

Let's make this clear...

The ACT of ROLLING THE DICE does take some minuscule amount of cognitive function and muscle ability which can be argued represents "skill."

That being said, the OUTCOME resulting from that "skill" DOES NOT have any correlation to said "skill."

The "skill" one exhibits "rolling dice" ENDS once the dice have been rolled. The sum of the dice are influenced in NO WAY by your initial "skillful" input. Otherwise, one would be able to predict and accurately roll the same sum of the dice over and over again. This we know is impossible because the rolling of dice is a random event.

No matter how "skillfully" you roll the dice the outcome will always be random.
