I previosly posted this in The Flood, and "Spartan 133 aka" said this MAY belong in here. So here I am. The rest of this is just like it is in The Flood. As I said, this is for Bungie employees only, or others who work at other game companies. I am seventeen years old. Since I am terrible at math, and have NO artistic talent, I wish to write the storylines to videogames. My questions are, what do I need to do this? Also, is it one person who writes it, or a group who sits down and discusses it, or does everyone contribute throughout development? My last question that I can think of at this moment is, is it written like a script? That is just for my personal information, for then I can go online and possibly get tips on how exactly to write a script, since they are different from books. Please reply.

You're not likely to get a response.

I'd google it.

The power of google groups! If you want to wait on the phone for about an hour, call Microsoft, you'll get a good answer though.

Go to college and take a bunch of english/literature/script writing courses. Ask again after you have completed that first step.

The Webmaster (webmaster@bungie.com) might help. He definitely won't be too sarcastic if it's a good question.

Don't forget to take some non-intensive science courses in there as electives; rocks for jocks is the joking name for the geology version, but there are a bunch of others like it and they're good for a basic understanding of what's going on in the field. You'd be surprised how often stuff like geology, geography, and economics come into storywriting.

If you've got your heart set on computer games, make sure you have at least a basic understanding of programming so you can understand test feedback given by people more comfortable communicating in hex code.

Some psych courses would come in handy for writing characters, but you can get away without them if you do a LOT of reading. Especially focus on biographies, history, memoirs, and current events stuff. Really good literature also helps.

And if the scriptwriting course tries to tell you what to write instead of how to put it down on paper, shun it like the classroom was filled with Flood carrier forms. Those profs do more harm to creative thought than Orwell ever feared was possible.

Ach! Was ist los?

As someone who writes scripts (and stuff in general), I can tell you that there are only two things you need to succeed: good writing skills and sixteen tons of creativity.

Already sent it to the Webmaster. He said he had no idea. Well, my mom did, as I had no idea how. I've never had any reason to do anything like this before now. Oh, and I'm already writing a book, and have several other ideas in my head. The main character is my name on here. Oh, and to ObbiQuiet, I did, long, long ago, and I got nothing. All it was was about designing. I'm not sure if that's what I should be looking for, but I didn't seem to find anything useful at the time. Also, even though it didn't have anything to do with what I typed in the search bar, I stumbled across a ped ophile site. Google now scares me, and with good, government pissing off reasons.

Well i think the stroy is about 95% compleet so you are a little late.

Instead of HAL0 2 which is comming upon close acording to bungie try to fill in the gap between the ILOVEBEES story.

As for the no members allowed employees only in case you havent relise members don't really work for bungie so unless you are an employee you really cant tell us what to do on open forums. If you want to only speek to a bungie employee why don't you try to pm sketch or frankie and when they are not too busy they will reply.

Hey you ar good at art and stuff. Well they need some graphic designers. If you really want to work for bungie and become thoes highly worshipped bungie employees why dont you check their Help Wanted ads in the inside bungie section.

Okay, first off, I don't want to write the damn story for Halo 2. I wish to get a job writing storylines, not writing Halo 2's. Second, I don't mean members can't come in here. I simply mean that I would prefer it if you could instead provide useful information. Plus, I was under the understandiong that the employees visited the forums.

Employees do visit the forums, but I would imagine they are VERY busy. I highly doubt any spare time they ad would be spent on here. Its like going to the office at the weekends. Also, it has been said that Bungie employees sometimes pose as regular users....

So, what? Are YOU an employee? No matter. How do you PM someone? I was told in the post in The Flood, but I huess he didn't say it write, as there isn't the correct stuff in there.

You can PM in a number of ways. Clicking on the name of the user, clicking on the message user button on the users posts. You can use the 'People Finder' to track someone down to PM them.

Okay, I have NEVER had to do this. Treat me like a two year old. "Daddy? How do you PM the smart men at Bungie?" (Said in a baby voice.)

Uh... The most senior person I can think to PM would be Achronos. Okay, what to do is click on the community tab on your interface. Right in front of you will be a seach field. Type in 'Achronos'.

After ths you should see the 'Message this user' link. Click on it, and the post screen will come up. Type your message (He runs the forums, so ask him who to contact for your query) and click on the send button. Then, wait for his reply.

Small problem. Please forgive me, I have never posted on forums before. Where is my "community tab". I currently see nothing that says "community tab." I see "My Settings," My Profile," and "My Chapters." Sorry. Or is the "Community Tab" that thing on the bottom of my screen which I hate? You know what I'm talking about.

I am not asking to work for Bungie. I am trying to know what I need to get hired at ANY COMPANY to write the storylines. Oh, and I have no musical talent as well. I can write, and that's about it.
