well i've been reading the threads like crazy since monday and i came across one thread about the different races and cultures of the UNSC marines. I didn't really think much of it other than "ya there are different races of marines in halo, its cool, makes for some realism to show that the whole world of different races and cultures is pulling together to fight this giant alien race" which is true....i mean if humanity is on the brink of extintion you'd think people could put somthing as silly as hating each other for their belifs or the color of their skin to save man kind. so when i was watching the interveiw with pete parsons at E3 on teamxbox.com they talked a bit on culture or somthing (couldn't really hear that well, the sound quailty is pretty bad) and i started to think about another thread about some poeple wondering if you'd ever get to see the master cheifs face. so i got to thinking again (wow alot of thinking, i'm surprized i'm still consious) that EVERYONE thinks the master cheif is cool, but if the master cheif took off his helmet and it were relield that he were black that some white people would be turned off the master cheif or if he were white that some black people would be turned off by that. thats why i belive that its best that it be keep a secret then EVERYONE is happy.

p.s. i'm not one of those people that would be doned if he were black or any other race. the MC kicks ass all the same!

I wouldn’t care what colour, race or nationality he was. Why should it matter?

It's an excellent idea that they kept the Chiefs face/race a secret. By doing this, the player, no matter what race he or she is, can identify with the Master Chief and put him or herself in his body, thereby believing that they actually are Spartan-117 while they are playing Halo.

Yeah in the books it tells you what he looks like, but many features in the game havent been true to the books.
