What language is Shara and the rest of the farmers speaking in the first mission of the campaign? It doesn't sound very familiar to me

I think it was Hungarian language.

I don't even know if it is a country or a language.

Don't -blam!- with Kerser!

Yes it is hungarian.

Fun fact: When Shara says "It vanak" she says "There are more" that is why Jorge reacts before the elites jump down.

Whoa thats a nice little easter egg. Is there any significance why they chose to put Hungarian out of all languages out there? Seems a bit random to me, and if I know Bungie, nothing is completely random

I'm a Bomb Technician. If you see me running, try to keep up!

Well, if you put subtitles on, the caption for Shara is "Hungarian struggling" or something like that, when she punches Jorge's chestplate.

This man, this man right here put it so eloquently that I actually cancelled my own 2000+ word long post.
/slow clap for respect

The person who said participating is important, not winning, obviously never won anything.

Hungarian. Reach was initially colonized by a vast amount of Hungarians, and the language has survived all this time.

Harvest is the same but with colonists from the American Midwest.

The native Reach inhabitants are Hungarian so the language of Reach is mainly that from what I know. Apart from the military.
