Like to see Bungies next game to have something similar to This.

Note: That's if Bungie's next game is a FPS.

Because this is amazing way for map creation. I was expecting something like this for reach, but was terrible disappointed, thought reach's forge editor is cool, simple, and easy too use. I find this one one to have more option, with the environment and weather.

Would you want something like this for the next game?

I would like to see a nice balance between Far Cry's map creation tool and Forge. FC's was really good for creating terrain, but didn't have very interesting buildings, while Forge was very user friendly.

You imply a level of control over Halo: Reach matchmaking that we no longer have. Or, in your vernacular, it isn't our shiznit anymore.

Active 9/1/11, Heroic 12/25/12

That was the reason I bought Far Cry 2. Why everybody doesn't create a map editor of the same quality, I don't know.

Glass Galaxies - a theme for bungie.net

Per audacia ad astra. Halo Reach | Destiny

Bungie seems to be pushing user created content, at least moreso than other developers. I personally think that user created content has massive potential and will be a vital part of gaming as we continue into the future.

I definitely hope they persevere with developing the methods behind the creation and distribution of said content with as much passion and ingenuity as they've displayed in the past.

edit: I can't read this post without feeling like it's an excerpt from an essay or something. Basically, i liek making things coz it fun

In a time long past, the armies of the dark came again to the lands of men. Their leaders became known as the fallen lords, and their terrible sorcery was without equal in the west.
In 30 years they reduced the civilized nations into carrion and ash. Until the free city of Madrigal alone defined them. An army gathered there, and a desperate battle was joined against the fallen
Heros were born in the fire and bloodshed of the wars which followed and their names and deeds will never be forgotten

I definitely would love a do anything map editor.

Bungie would have to build their game in a completely different way for a map editor like that to even exist. Modifying weather and time settings like that isn't something that you can just slap onto a product. You have to start from scratch with those features in mind.

That's good at least I made a little humor. :D

But this seriously something that almost any game should have, and bungie as a developer should have gotten this, in Halo:Reach.

ISU Cyclones!

Damn, that's bad ass. But... weren't Gametuts the ones who were so proud of being the first to allow Reach to be pirated? Jerks.

I know right! The customization is just phenomenal! I really love it!

Yeah, do believe so. Jerkers.

That's quite a beautiful editor. Console custom map design has such an incredible range of possibilities. I would love to see something even more gorgeous that allows even more flexibility in BUNGIE's next game. I haven't played around with forge enough (or far cry at all) to know for sure, but am I correct in thinking that you don't have the same tag customization as you do in computer based editors? I think that allowing for that level of customization would significantly enhance the creative potential for new forms of game play.

If memory serves me correctly, the guy behind Far Cry 2's Map Editor was one of the two people who pretty much made all of Halo CE's Multiplayer maps by themselves, right?

When he was younger, he was the one who always had the jokes and riddles that would keep the spirits of the Spartans high. Over the years however, his lifetime of combat had hardened him, as it had all of the Spartans. Within Will, John thought, something special had been lost.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I've been disappointed with both installments that had editing. Hailing from PC days, map editors were common though often quite technical.
Starcraft was a PRIME example of what a user-friendly, built-in map editor was capable of. The things people did with that game never ceased to amaze me. Half the time we weren't even playing standard game-types.

-blam!- good times
