Ive been playing HALO CE on my pc and decided I might do a litlle better with a joystick instead of using my keyboard and a mouse.

I bought a Logitech Extreme 3D Pro but cant seem to set the settings myself correctly and am wondering if you guys could steer me in the right direction.

Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.

Thanks.

I don't think Halo supports joystick use. Does it? If so, Logitech joysticks aren't all that great. I had a Wingman Force 3d, and it -blam!-ed up on me. Then I bought an Attack2, a bargain bin model, and it's now -blam!-ed up on me.

The Joystick Z axis (Twist) died so now it only works in one direction on the Wingman, and the Attack 2's throttle got messed up somehow, it was working fin the other day. Now when I press a button on the joystick it resets the throttle. In short, Both are sitting here, collecting dust, waiting to be thrown out the window next time I'm feeling destructive...

keyboard/mouse is the best thing to use for pc gaming. more accurate, easier to set up/use.

360 controllers arent too bad for Halo if you get good enough with them, I myself use one and I'm getting better which means I'm also getting a lot better at Halo on Xbox (I used to get so pwned by my next door neighbor who was a lvl 20 I believe on Xbox Live for team/free for all slayer I believe and now I can at least hold my grounds and get a few kills in; ahh, it was lvl 19 in Double Team and Team Slayer These are his stats)

For FPS and Strategy games yes. But have you ever tried to play Microsoft Combat Flight Simulator 3 with a keyboard and mouse? It's next to impossible!

In fact just about any game involving vehicles is difficult without a joystick. With the exception of Halo. This game has the most intuitive vehicle controls I've seen in a long time.

there is no sticky aim/magnetism in pc version, so controllers are harder to use.. its like trying to shoot your teammate.

I use a Kensington trackball with the keyboard– great for vehicle control.

amen brother

i dont know the XBOX 360 controller is pretty damn good for FPS, but yea M&K FTW!

Yes. The mouse and keyboard is superior for first person shooters, role-playing games and real time strategy games. So use the keyboard and mouse for Halo PC. The mouse and keyboard is vastly superior to the wimpy controller. That is why Halo and Halo 2 dumb the game down for you by using auto-aim, because it is harder to aim with the controller. That's why Halo PC has no auto-aim, and H2PC won't either. Sniping will actually take skill.
