I think popular choices usually tend to be the least likely/suitable candidates, same for a lot of folk who want to be in the position.

But, since you're asking, jmh9072 and Cryptic would be great at it.

Yeah, definitely Cryptic. He is a living Bungie encyclopedia!

@Helveck

Just an Average Joe...

I tend to avoid inputting any actual or semi-serious thoughts into threads like these... But what the hell?

Anyway, I can't really hold it against the OP but I must point out the redundancy in regards to this thread and how ridiculously stupid it looks when time after time, the same people show up to discuss nearly the exact same thing. They discuss who they love, and why they should be a Moderator, and in turn those mentioned reply with a modest and humble manner that they might not even take it if it is ever offered, nor do they think they would be best suited. And sure, some of you may be honest, but a fair majority of those in this particular group are full of it. And yeah, I may look like a giant dick for calling throwing this one on the table(for no justifiable reason really), but I'm amazed at how, as I said, the same people continue to have the same conversation time and time again.

For those of you "voting", I'd hate to break it to you, but as much as those particular members you have mentioned may be extremely active and contribute quality input for the Community, that doesn't say dick all about their ability to handle a position of "authority". Yes the position of a Moderator might force someone to bit a bit busier at times but we all know overall being a Moderator is a simple task. The guidelines are easy and simple to follow, in addition to this whole situation not possessing any real life serious importance, it should still be noted that people are picking people for the wrong reasons.

I've seen many faces or colors of some of the people named here. And not only do I feel the majority of them are undeserving of this position, I question the maturity level of some of them as well. Regardless of how well they may paint themselves as a Member without "power".

There are a few people that I personally think would make great Moderators. But I won't bother to join in on this popularity contest game that's been payed over and over, time and time again. My point is, many of the people who appear to be "Mod material", are the furthest thing from it. They may speak well, they may be an extremely active member within the Community, and they may seem extremely nice. But if you believe that instantly-qualifies them for the position, well I'd have to say you're an idiot.

I vote for myself to show that I would be a bad candidate since I would vote for myself.

But since I said that, I'm clearly the most modest and therefore better than everybody else.

Key

Posted by: HelveckCouldn't agree more with you to be perfectly honest.

I mean, there are a lot of people who I think people would LIKE to see in their salmon jumpsuits just because then they can go "I knew that person before they were a mod. Yup, I'm a pretty big deal." Obviously that isn't everyone's feeling. Nor is it probably the conscious feeling of most. However, subconsciously, that's how most people in here are thinking about the situation.

Just in the process of reading your post I rethought and rescinded 1 or 2 of the people I had even suggested in my post.

Then, there's the people who are farcically suggesting people that everyone else is simultaneously farcically suggesting without presenting any actual suggestions or reason behind said suggestions. This, in turn, takes up space in a thread that could otherwise be use to discuss the potential of those who may become moderators in the future, rather than talking about people who are just famous (or infamous as the situation my have it).

To illustrate my point:

People who suggested SonicJohn or burritosenior: Are of the first variety I mentioned.* (In my opinion)

People who suggested spartain ken 15 (and no one else): Are of the second variety I mentioned.** (In my opinion)

People who suggested Elmicker or cortana 5: Are probably actually thinking about what they post before they post it and have good reasons behind their decisions.

*I know I originally suggested burritosenior, but I edited my post (sorry bs).

**I know I suggested him as a joke but I had more than just that in my post.

Also,

So, would it prove your point if I replied expressing how much I agree with you? Regardless, I always question my maturity level.

(>' ')> Kirby dance! <(' '<)

Everyone has different sides, and I've seen several sides of the people who have been "nominated." Hell, the mods and employees have different sides to them. They're people, and who doesn't? But I see your point: being lovely in the public forums, but being an ass in private can easily translate over to how one would treat the "unleash ninjas" button.

As for those who have replied: honestly, it's flattering to be mentioned in a positive light, no matter the subject. I don't blame anyone for replying to that, let alone trying to look humble. I'd rather read that than someone being a puffed-up braggart.

But, no, you're not a dick for pointing this out. I was kinda sitting around, waiting for the usual suspects to show up. But, hey, that may say something if the same people are brought up over time.
