It's funny that whenever this topic pops up, the people who I personally think might be good are never mentioned. Maybe it's a matter of perspective...

And no, don't bother asking.

Not really surprised. I have had enough community involvement to consider, but not over the years. I have been here for about 3 years now and have always visited the forums, but never really posted until last year. Your story is similair to mine.

No one. Let there be anarchy.

To be honest, I believe the way of picking moderator is to be under the influence, posting all b.net's username on the dartboard, and have the admin and moderator throws darts at the board to determine which member hasn't been pinned at all. That lucky and fortune member would be the new moderator of the website.

I guess that's how it goes.

P.s. Qbix, can you move my name behind the dartboard? <_<

This seems to work quite well in private groups, just kick the spammers and shock site posters. Though it definitely wouldn't work here lol.

For Carnage, Apply Within.

I have returned from the Untamed Lands. MOAP is dead.

I wish girls didn't have cooties, otherwise we'd see more female ninjas. (guess who the second female ninja is in hfcs)

Dianna Agron is the epitome of perfection.

Quinntology.

These kinds of threads make me laugh. Not in the good way, but in the sad, depressing way. Don't know how to explain it.

Honestly, the best candidate would be Cryptic. Unfortunately, like most good candidates who have been around a while, there is less and less time spent on Bungie.net. Except evilcam, he's just a loser.

Oh, and Pillage. Wouldn't that be interesting?

"That's about all that can be said for plots, which anyway are just one thing after another, a what and a what and a what.

Now try how and why."

The problem with the question for me is that everyone I can think of as being moderator material, I really value as a poster. When a person becomes a moderator, it can affect their posting.

While it's nominally true that moderators still post normally, it can't be ignored that some impressionable users will get it into their head that they can "win all the points" if they impress the mods, and thus one sees a high number of forced responses to moderator created threads and posts.

For a more specific example, Cortana and SonicJohn are often brought up as being excellent Moderator material. While there is little doubt in my mind that this is the case, I can't help but think that it might get in the way of their speculative threads. It would make it go from "hey look! a story/bungie universe thread" to "hey look! a moderator thread!"

Just thought I'd like to bring it up.

You bring up a very good point. We know SJ and Cortana from the quality of their posts and I personally would hate to lose that. A good example of this happening to a mod would be Foman. We'll never again see a quality post from him about how to stick a toy helmet on a cat. It's a damn shame.

idk what a forum ninja is?

Here are some forum ninjas in their natural habitat
Either TU is really short, or beer makes everyone tall...

Edit: Either the beer they're drinking is getting to me, or Foman has a really long arm.

Don't get me wrong. I think Foman acting as mod has been a positive thing for the community. I guess the gist of this post is to say "being a moderator isn't all fine booze and silk sheets." Thus, if one really cares about a user, one should think for a second before saying "this person should totally be a moderator."
