Subject: The new, New Zealand Range IP's aren't getting access to Ma...

Since March many New Zealanders haven't been able to connect to matchmaking on all Halo games, i have been in contact with the US side of Microsoft and they said this

"Jonathan: I'm sorry at this time we do not have any resolution, but from my understanding they are currently working on fixing the issue. Please allow more time so that they can have the reach servers up and running for New Zealand.
josh: Thank you for your help, do you have any estimation on when this will be fixed? thanks.
Jonathan: Unfortunately I do not have an ETA on when it will be fixed."

I then phoned Microsoft to see if it was actually being sorted out and they said that the problem is not with Microsoft as 343i handles the servers, i have received no help from 343i on this so i'm wondering if Bungie have any news. As far as i know the problem is with the new range of IP's given out by certain New Zealand ISP's. All other games can connect apart from any Halo game.

Bungie is out of the Halo business. It's all 343i now and has been for months. I have not been impressed with 343i on any front. Seems like they aren't very competent.

343i is a branch of Microsoft. While they may not be in the same building, they're the same company.

And as far as 343i having servers, thats just a flat out lie. You cant connect to the HOST which is a big difference.

I can't play at all, i and many others get the message "Halo servers are unavailable at this time, please try again later". I can't connect to the servers which means i can't connect to a host...

What's a lie? They have servers that set up games, provide your service record, and so on.

exactly.... What Ex0 is talking about is completely different to the issue on the servers not giving access, as i have heard its the new IP range given out by some New Zealand ISP's

If I could change a few things in Reach, it would be....

*Get rid of yoinking and medal ( yoinking is retarded )
*Force Bungie to work again and get rid of 343's existence
* A few other things

This forum topic pretty much sums up all the problems people are having with connecting to the servers as well as ranks showing up as recruits and default armor being worn by avatars. Theres links in the thread as well that go to other discussions on the matter.

ok everyone, ignore the whole 'PORT FORWARDING saga.

Go to google,

Type 'what is my IP address.'

And I bet you it starts with 101.

this is a huge issue with all HALO games so... Post here:

http://www.343industries...5614__st__20#entry45614

And we can hope for an answer from 343 soon, as the problem lies with them and their servers/software!

There is nothing you can do to play at this time unfortunately! :(

It has become evident that ANYONE with the ip address starting with '101' cannot play Halo Reach, or Halo 3 matchmaking through no fault of their own. There is a technical issue with 343 and their servers and has been on-going since early November. 343 industries are offering NO SUPPORT, and NO EXPLINATION and I feel, as I am paying for a service that I am not able to use, FULL compensation of some sort is in order. This is a major issue that is affecting 1000's of people world wide - mainly in Australia and New Zealand. (IP 101....) Here are some links that proove that this issue is not just with myself, but is a major Xbox Live issue: http://halo.xbox.com/Forums/yaf_postst44593p7_Halo--Reach-ser ver-is-unavailable.aspx http://www.bungie.net/Forums/posts.aspx?postID=68370321 http://www.343industries.org/forum/topic/4143-someone-please-h elp-me/page__fromsearch__1

It may just be your connection. I live in NZ and have had no problem connecting.
